Go Red: Why the Bernadette Schaeffler Collection is the Hottest New Design Showroom In Town

Share News:

I only met her a few weeks ago, but already feel like she is one of my bestest friends. Bernadette Schaeffler, a beautiful, elegant, taste-laden blonde who moved to the United States from Cologne, Germany in 1995 and makes her home in Highland Park, is throwing open the doors of her 1616 Hi Line Drive showroom (suite 101) tomorrow evening, 5 to 8 p.m., for a holiday fete with CandysDirt.com and Dallas Design Guide.

If you’d like to come, holler at me!

If you cannot make it, do pop down there soon to take a look/see at what she is all about. My first visit, I was blown away. Bernadette has taken her extensive travels around the world, culled the prettiest and best from a whirlwind of cultures, architecture and lifestyles and incorporated it into her passion for design.

Her showroom features her personal designs, but she is much more than a furniture designer. She is a guru of a tasteful, yet balanced lifestyle, not unlike the German economy that is thriving. Hailing from five generations of a retail family — shoes, if you must know — the focus is her own private label line. She does modern and Euro antiques better than anyone I have ever known.

“I try to work in good fabrics, metals made to look like antique wood and a little bit of the industrial influence with old pharmacy or office furniture,” she told Rebecca Sherman of Modern Luxury Dallas in a recent issue.

And her accessories from around the globe are on a whole new level.

Bernadette ‘s philosophy is simple: the home can be a distinctive, artful and unique work of art with nominal funds and a little effort. (Her input does help!) She aims to fill a family’s home not just with love, peace, warmth and security but order and great taste. The Schaeffler Collection brings in Old World treasures with modern elements, in one of the most unique expressions I have seen. Do you love that antique from your great grandmother? So will Bernadette, and she will help you design with it, around it, enhance it from her private label line, accented with her delicious world discoveries.

Plus her furniture designs are just scrumptious. Do not touch the rough-hewn round wood Louis XVI dining table you will see tomorrow night — my name is written all over it.

Oh! Almost forgot: 30% off shopping… while the Yuletide glistens and the Gluhwein flows!
