Allie Beth Allman & Associates has tapped veteran real estate attorney Scott Rooker as its first general counsel, creating a new leadership position aimed at helping agents navigate complex transactions and better serve their clients. President and CEO Keith Conlon announced the appointment, citing Rooker’s experience as both a litigator and an attorney for several title companies.

“We are excited that Scott has joined Allie Beth Allman & Associates,” Conlon said. “I’ve known him in a variety of capacities for the past 20 years, and I know he’s going to provide great leadership across the company in so many ways, but especially in advising agents to win more deals.”

Rooker, who was most recently at Independence Title, said that he jumped at the opportunity to join Conlon and the high-performing, service-oriented agents at the Dallas luxury real estate firm.

“Allie Beth Allman is the gold standard in luxury real estate, and if it were a retail store, it would be in Highland Park Village,” Rooker said. “I have seen the team that Keith has put together over the past 10 years, and I have admired and marveled at the company’s success, and I’m very excited to be part of it and to play a role helping agents better serve their clients and helping the company grow.”

Rooker will join Allie Beth Allman & Associates during a record-setting year. Sales are running 10% higher than in 2025, Conlon said.

Earlier this year, when Conlon took a sizable equity stake in the company to cement its local roots, he knew that it needed an upgrade in technology as well as a new leadership role, a function that brokerages often assign to a sales manager or experienced agent who trains and advises other agents.

“Our agents are experienced entrepreneurs who run their businesses very effectively, and I determined we needed an attorney who had great contract knowledge and a great personality to work with a variety of them at all levels, but especially those who have complicated deals that they need to close quickly and effectively,” he said.

“We usually bring in a variety of attorneys from title companies for our sales meetings nearly every week, and Scott had spoken at our meetings numerous times,” Conlon said. “He’s very experienced and knowledgeable and had been at two title companies where many of our agents closed their deals. It soon became apparent that we needed a hybrid position and that Scott was who we needed.”

He said Rooker will provide training for agents through strategic initiatives and guide them through complicated contracts. Rooker will also be responsible for risk management and assisting in brokerage operations, compliance, and other matters.

“The plan is to improve upon the processes at the firm,” Rooker said. “There may be times when you are dealing with a property that is under a trust, where the sellers are going through a divorce, or where boundary or fence lines with a neighbor need to be settled amicably and effectively.”

He will advise agents on contract language and help address issues that may arise during title review. He will also help train real estate agents on the advantages and perils of AI-driven platforms and technology.

Rooker and his wife Christina, high school sweethearts, have four children and live in Richardson. He and Conlon have known each other for more than two decades, first through baseball as teammates and, at other times, opponents at the high school and collegiate levels.

“Scott’s a former athlete who understands discipline, work ethic, and competition in business,” Conlon said. “The agents will now have access to a specialist who will help them through many issues, and he’ll play an important role in carrying forward our legacy as Dallas’ leading luxury brokerage.”
