bachelorette

The house Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay brought her beaus “home” to on this week’s episode can be yours for about $3.9 million.

Confession: I have never watched The Bachelor, nor The Bachelorette. In fact, the closest I’ve ever come to watching either show was the dearly departed clip show The Soup on E!.

You can also grill the dates of family members in this perfectly appointed formal dining room. (Photo courtesy ABC)

I may be unfairly judging the shows based on this exposure, but I am pretty sure I’d rather be locked in a listed hoarder house full of homicidal-looking clown dolls than watch this really confusing show about (as far as I can tell) kissing strangers ’til you think you might love them and then proposing and then not getting married about three months later.

But something curious came up in the last episode, and thank the Lord for Reality Steve, who put a finger on the issue: The house that Rachel Lindsay from Dallas, our bachelorette for this season, brought her suitors “home” to was not actually home. (more…)

6030 Mercedes MStreets Ext

I have to admit, I might very well pull myself out of Preston Hollow and plunk down in Lakewood for the right home on Mercedes Ave. Whilst perusing this angel at 6030 Mercedes, heart of the M Streets, Stonewall Jackson Elementary, perfectly sited between Greenville and Abrams, I came home and dreamed about living on Mercedes Ave.

Course, then, I’d have to get a car to match the street name.

Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher and her betrothed are nearby (not right here, of course) as is Angela Hunt and a host of fun people. Then, you drive a little east on Mercedes, and the homes grow in majesty, the yards expand, while all retaining tremendous character and symmetry, all of them, old and new. Hold their own against Preston Hollow or Highland Park 24/7. The entire street is a “Please Don’t Eat The Daisies” dream neighborhood of perfectly sized Tudors with manicured lawns, huge trees, and great green backyards beckoning for a party.

Update 8/05/2016: We have taken down the exterior photo of this home and street name for security purposes. And the couple is leasing, not buying, but we applaud their very good taste in this house!

I am NOT going to give you the address, but let’s just say that the Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher and her fiance, Jordan Rodgers, have been living in Uptown while hunting for the home of their dreams. They have finally found it in the M Streets of Dallas. In a home listed by Dave Perry-Miller agent extraordinaire Shannon Blount!

The young couple could pay $525,000 (or near asking price) for a 1547 square foot, circa 1949 brick pier & beam that was not just remodeled in 2016, it was knocked out of the ballpark: new windows and re-finished hardwoods, total kitchen and bath remodel with white carrera marble, brushed gold hardware, subway tile and Kohler everything. The home only has two bedrooms but that’s because the third was likely turned into the third living area, a little study or future nursery perhaps? Oh my yes, we are so hoping!

There are new doors, new moldings, Bosch appliances in the kitchen (WOW!) a Nest thermostat, that darling banquette in the breakfast area, Kevo keyless entry, new lighting, custom window treatments. The home is basically a new doll house inside a traditional shell, just what buyers are looking for.

The home was on the market for all of 21 day. Like I said, it’s a dream house and a dream sale for a dream couple. Jump for ALL the photos!
