Why is this partnership so important for Dallas?

It’s no secret Dallas is becoming one of the most competitive markets for real estate agents and brokers, what with Compass taking the town by storm and Douglas Elliman headed our way. Redfin is gaining ground, and I have seen quite a few Door signs of late.

Then there are the iBuyers, focusing more on the moderately-priced suburbs, and the growing gangbusters 100 percent commission brokerages like JP and Associates and eXp. Keller Williams was born just south of us in Austin, but the company, now branded as a tech firm, has a very strong presence in Big D.

Our Agent Migration columnist, Josh Baethage, treads hard to keep up with all the changes.

Like so many television channels, there are so many choices for consumers who want to buy and sell a home. Thus brokers are pedaling on ludicrous speed to keep agents engaged, armed and competitive to market properties everywhere.

And it’s led to a really important move for Ebby Halliday Realtors. (more…)

Partnership offers big savings for buyers, sellers, and agents

Now that Ebby Halliday Companies is owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, it was just a matter of time before it would connect with a cousin company and give agents, buyers, and sellers a deep discount at Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony.

Anyone who buys or sells a home through Ebby Halliday is now eligible for major discounts at the massive NFM along the southern border of State Highway 121, officials announced recently. Those savings include: (more…)

Kristi Davis

Take one look at her and you can tell why everyone loves Kristi Davis: she’s gorgeous, full of fun and energy, and one of the hardest-working Realtors in North Texas.

Which is why Ebby Halliday has just appointed Kristi Davis sales manager of its bustling Frisco Office.

“Kristi brings extensive sales and management experience, as well as a strong desire to assist our Frisco agents in taking their careers to the next level,” says Mary Frances Burleson, president and Chief Executive Officer.  “A recipient of the Easterwood Cup Broker/Manager of the Year Award presented by the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®, Kristi offers a long history of distinguished service to our industry and community.”

A Dallas-Fort Worth native, Davis has been in real estate since 2002. Having been a top-producing agent she understands the life of a REALTOR®, the ebbs and flows of the industry, and the importance of lead generation.

“I am confident Kristi’s background will serve her well in our Frisco Office,” says Betty Misko, executive vice president and director of sales offices for the Ebby Halliday Companies. “She has an innate understanding of how agents learn, grow and prosper.”

Speaking of growth, Ebby Halliday is opening up FIVE (5!) new offices this year in Prosper, a second Rockwall office, and Cedar Creek Lake. A new office is coming to the existing Allen Ebby office, and Williams Trew, an Ebby Halliday Company, is opening an Aledo office.

Kristi formerly managed Ebby’s Irving and Flower Mound/Lewisville offices. (more…)

We hope that you’ll take time today to celebrate the memory of Ebby Halliday Acers and “do something for someone,” as she often did. Today, the first lady of Dallas real estate would have turned 105. While we are grateful that this smart, hardworking, and elegant woman transformed the landscape of Dallas for the better, we sure do miss her.

Grab your cameras, Dallas, as the skyline will glow “Ebby Red” tonight as the city remembers one of its beloved icons, Ebby Halliday Acers.

Landmarks to be lit in Ebby’s trademark shade of rouge include the Bank of America building, Reunion Tower, The Joule, KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts, One Arts Plaza, and both the Winspear Opera House and Wyly Theatre.

Other buildings have said that they, too, will celebrate Dallas’ “first lady of real estate” tonight, Sept. 16, as a way to shed light on the incredible impact Ebby made on Dallas.

Ebby note

Hi Candice – I wanted to share this with you. You are welcome to share it as you wish! I keep this note of kindness on my desk as inspiration and a reminder of how one gesture of kindness can encourage others. I was so humbled 13 years ago when I opened this note and I’m humbled to this day – I only hope I can pass on this same kindness and encouragement to others. Thank you , Kim Himes
