That Other Robert A.M. Stern Structure in Dallas: The Baron Estate
Share News:
Robert A.M. Stern is the architect of the George W. Bush Presidential Library at S.M.U, which has now been dedicated, graced by the five living U. S. Presidents and brought a host of dignitaries to Dallas. But the simple Georgian-style structure is not the only Stern-designed building in our town. Fred Baron and Lisa Blue engaged Stern to design their “Community House” at the intersection of Preston and DeLoache in Preston Hollow. The home borders the Rachofsky House. Architectural Digest wrote about it in 2010. You may recall our earlier interview with Lisa Baron, Fred’s widow and one of the nation’s most distinguished attorneys: After All, What is a Home REALLY For? It is likely one or more of the Presidents in town today will end up at this home, and there is a lovely photo on Lisa’s piano of the Barons with former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hilary.
