What do you do when you find yourself at the top of your game, achieving every goal you set for yourself, but still lacking fulfillment? Do you believe you can retrain your thinking to bring fulfillment? Or are you better off changing your circumstances?
CandysDirt.com turned to renowned leadership expert Mark Johnson, former CEO of JPAR Brokerage of Texas, for motivation from his popular YouTube show “Success Superstars.” He sat down with the top 1% agent of the JPAR agency Jenna Harris-Hernandez, Team Lead of the Seal Group & Productivity Coach, to uncover how she let go of perfectionism to achieve fulfillment.
Jenna’s Background
Jenna is not new to the real estate business. She mentions she grew up in this industry — became a real estate agent, then a wife, and mom — all while building three real estate businesses. She built a residential business in real estate, but got out of that to go into the investment world.
“I got into the investment world because I thought that’s what I wanted to do when I first got into real estate,” Jenna shares. “But I began pushing a lot of volume and remember looking at my bank account feeling empty. At that time, I decided to start over.”
Once Jenna realized she was lacking fulfillment, she and her team rebranded into what is now known as the Seal Group. The Seal Group specializes in providing options, transparency and solutions in real estate investment acquisitions to investors across the globe as well as sellers throughout Texas.
“Every new phase has brought me to a new uncomfortable phase, but has grown fruits,” says Jenna. “I had to learn that failure is truly your best way forward.”
Retrain Your Thinking to Bring Fulfillment
A few ways Mark and Jenna believe you can retrain your thinking to create change, regain fulfillment and see success in your business is by:
- Change your mindset and expectations.
- Let go of perfectionism.
- Release the pressure of creating success.
- Focus on training others to be successful.
- Complete your daily habits.
“One of my favorite quotes is that perfection is not a standard, progress is,” says Mark.
“Yes, I love that. You have to wake up and realize it’s a new day. Be consistent with your daily habits and don’t become weary,” Jenna adds.
Key Takeaways
Get comfortable with embracing uncomfortable situations. Find that one thing that is holding you back from everything else and push yourself to try it. You never know when that one thing that made you uncomfortable, will bring something good.
