A Custom Louboutin Bathtub is Just The Beginning in This Arlington Home

This Arlington home with an over-the-top bathroom and a backyard built to party made Zillow Gone Wild.

Why do we get so pumped when we see our cities get mentioned in national news? It’s the same phenomenon as when a celebrity dies and you once had your picture taken with them outside Don Pablo’s in 2002, so you repost the photo with your version of an obit. They were so kind. Such a loss. Hope they serve queso in Heaven. It’s that sort of thing.

That’s pretty much what happened when this Arlington home hit Zillow Gone Wild. It’s big news for Dallas-Fort Worth because first, it’s in Arlington, and second, it is a direct reflection of the owner.

Regal Realtors’ Marjorie Bradford said this home is owned by a couple and the wife’s personality is just as big as the house. It’s reflected everywhere – in the bold colors, 24-carat grout in the primary bathroom, and most especially in the custom soaking bathtub made to look like a classic Louboutin heel, complete with red sole.

Bradford said there likely isn’t a red-soled shoe that doesn’t fill the closet. The owner is a bit of a collector and the husband is in construction and wants to make all of his wife’s dreams come true.

An Arlington Home Built For Shoes

In order to fit the shoe bath, they borrowed from the closet on the other side of the wall. It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but the wall behind the heel is curved to create a little soaking cove.

In the shower — yes, you read that correctly — the grout is 24-carat gold. Hey, when you have a vision, you go for it. The primary ensuite bathroom is new and oversized and the chandelier is fitting. It’s grand. It’s a statement. It’s extra. And we like it that way.

Upstairs, the husband has his version of the bathroom – his private quarters, that is. Instead of a Louboutin soaking tub, he gets an oversized game room with a pool table and a Cowboys star anchoring the modern pendant light. Bradford said that room was previously two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom obviously remains intact and the sellers said if the new owners would prefer two bedrooms, they’re happy to add the wall back in.

An All-Star Balcony

With this much color, personality, and open easy-flow layout, it’s no surprise that these two entertain. Often. And their parties are legendary.

In order to have even more space for their guests, they created a catwalk-style balcony outside that runs along one end of the pool. A pool that definitely has a hot tub because after a long day of being this creative, you kind of need a soak.

And here’s just one thing you can now know: Zillow Gone Wild does reach out and ask permission before publishing a listing. They have to if they want to have access to the photos, but it’s still a nice touch.

As for how the owners felt about being featured on a site that’s notorious for wild, weird, and spicy listings? Not unlike the oversized flamingo floating in the pool, they were tickled pink.

Bradford said it’s a fabulous location — so close to Cowboy Stadium and three miles to Texas Live. It’s in an established Arlington neighborhood filled with custom homes that range everywhere from high $500,000s to over $1 million.

Marjorie Bradford of Regal Realtors has 1805 Mid Pines Court listed for $740,000.
