Montgomery Plaza is always a favorite featured location for Tarrant County Tuesday. Not only was the iconic 1928-built warehouse transformed into one of Fort Worth’s first urban condominium properties back in 2004 as the anchor of the burgeoning West 7th District, but it is also one of the most popular condo and destination communities in all of Cowtown.

In 2001 when I was a young lad (not even old enough to wear bow ties) and moving to Cowtown for the first time, the area just West of Downtown Fort Worth and close to the Museum/Cultural District was a dilapidated and abandoned area you would not want to visit at night.

The F3 tornado of 2000 that ripped through the Westside of Fort Worth including Arlington Heights, Monticello, Rivercrest, the Cultural District, the Museum District, Linwood, the 7th street corridor, and downtown Fort Worth pretty much closed down any commerce, nightlife, or desire to live close to the shutdown Montgomery Ward building.

While it took an awful tornado to prompt the West 7th revitalization — the end result has been very well-received.

But, just like in many areas of life, with devastation and destruction comes great opportunity. Developers, investors, and entrepreneurs saw the possibilities of revitalizing the area now known as West 7th District into chain and local store brands, restaurants, office spaces, grocery stores, and of course hip and cool condos and townhomes.

The Montgomery Ward building was transformed into shops, restaurants, and urban yet historic-feeling condominiums. One such condominium is the subject of today’s Tarrant County Tuesday.

Need some Starbucks? Chick-fil-A? Massage? Waxing? It’s all just steps away.

2600 W. 7th #2418

No. 2418 in the Montgomery Plaza building is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom dwelling of 1,263 square feet and views onto the interior drive-through of the building and the resort pool and spa.

The urban chic home is filled with large windows and hip features and is just a few steps away from the workout facilities, pool and sun deck, restaurants, sports bars, hair studios, and the world’s busiest Chick-fil-A … trust me.

The entry hallway offers plenty of light and wall space for art.

Through the years, the surroundings have only improved around Montgomery Plaza. Every year it seems a new restaurant, boutique, or natural grocery store is arriving. Also, if you need a quick medical opinion, across the street from your condo is a doc-in-the-box ready with COVID tests and much more.

If You Don’t Want to Leave …

Maybe you’re not feeling a night in the West 7th District or even a short ride to downtown Fort Worth. No worries. Stay home and enjoy your spacious condo with high ceilings and comfy amenities.

The open kitchen, dining, and living area provide plenty of options for one, two, or 20 people to enjoy comfortably.

Maybe you just want to chillax and take a long hot shower or soak in your tub. You picked the right condo because you can do both!

The possibilities are endless in this condo and this location. Walk to the Trinity Trails (when it’s not quite 109 degrees outside of course). Go get a Crumbl cookie. Watch the Longhorns beat up on Alabama this Saturday at the Buffalo Wild Wings just up the street. Walkability is now a staple of Fort Worth living. No need to live in the ‘burbs if you have the opportunity to own a condo in the Montgomery Plaza.

One of these days it will be cool enough outside to enjoy the hot tub.

Michelle Scarborough with Williams Trew Real Estate has listed the condo at 2600 West 7th #2418 and all the goodies that come with it for $399,000.
