RogersDallas ISD’s Dan D. Rogers Elementary is a quiet powerhouse of a school that, helmed by 2016 Principal of the Year Lisa Lovato, uses personalized learning to help students learn at their own pace, and in ways that interest them the most.

If you’ve never heard of personalized learning, one of the simplest ways I’ve ever heard it explained was that it was what would happen if Montessori and a STEM school had a really smart baby.

Rogers has earned more than a few accolades in recent years, including being named the 2017 winner of the Golden Psi Award by the Board of Educational Affairs of the American Psychological Association for its efforts to create an encouraging environment for students and its use of positive discipline techniques. It was also named a Blue Ribbon school by Children at Risk.

And if that wasn’t enough, of course, the school is bringing some serious academic chops as well, earning an A grade from the Texas Education Agency, and earned five distinctions out of a possible six.

It’s also zoned for Ben Franklin Middle School and Hillcrest High, which are both International Baccalaureate schools.

And we’ve found a great School+House listing on East Lovers Lane, zoned for Dan D. Rogers Elementary. It’s a two-story townhome located at 6646 East Lovers Lane that’s gotten the benefit of a complete remodel with designer finishes.

In addition to being a pretty safe bike ride to school, it’s also close to a couple of churches, some good shopping, and an easy hop up Abrams or Northwest Highway to get to major highways.

The two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath home is just right for a couple who doesn’t necessarily want to have to move right away when that first baby arrives. You could easily find yourself staying put until middle school, even, building some equity or even moving on and using it as an investment property.

The kitchen has gotten an update with a sleek tile backsplash, white cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. Bright, airy finishes in the common areas showcase a corner fireplace in the living room.

Both bedrooms and the full bathroom are upstairs, as is the stacked washer/dryer hookup.

The townhome is priced at $139,900, and is listed by Richard Scott with United Real Estate.
