Now I Know Why They Call It a Weeping Willow Tree: Icemageddon 2013

This is the sad news about trees during a Texas ice storm: some of them cannot handle the weight of the ice. I went out to try and save this little Weeping Willow tree, thinking maybe I could plug in a hairdryer and melt the ice, but I think I would need one the size of Princess Vespa’s hairdryer in Space Balls. The larger tree branches wreak havoc with the power lines, as 240,000 Dallasites know.

Also, be careful around your pool, especially with pets. It’s slippery out there, and dogs get frisky in the cold and run, could easily slip right into a freezing cold swimming pool.
