Rick Perry's Arm Twisting Business for Texas Doesn't Go Over So Well in NYC

Been meaning to tell you that in Palo Alto, CA. the state of Texas actually has a recruiting OFFICE. It’s no secret that Texas, under Governor Rick Perry, is pretty dang aggressive about inviting everyone here to work, move a business, and just plain live. Perry is twisting a lot of arms to recruit companies and CEOs from other downtrodden states such as Illinois, California and New York. No doubt Detroit might actually take him up on it. Well, the Big Apple recruiting prompted a response from the Daily Show’s Lewis Black. He pokes fun at Rick Perry’s “Texas Throwndown” radio ads that tell other states how much they suck so you know, come to Texas.

Of course, that’s probably one reason why our market is so hot: five of the ten fastest growing U.S. cities are in Texas, including Dallas/Fort Worth. We’ve tacked on about 25,000 since July 1, 2011 to 2012, while New York squeezed in 68,000.
