Tuesday Two Hundred: Get Cozy With This Super Cute Santa Monica Charmer

Share News:

You guys, I have East Dallas on the brain! There are so many adorable houses in this area that my husband can’t go for two blocks without me saying, “SLOW DOWN! I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT HOUSE IS ON THE MARKET!”

I was pretty stunned when I saw that 6938 Santa Monica Drive was for sale, too. This house, which is close to tons of amenities (Lindsley Park, Santa Fe Trail, White Rock Lake) is perfect for an active family. With three bedrooms and two fully remodeled baths, the next homeowners won’t have to worry about updating anything either.

There’s 1,758 square feet inside this sweet cottage in Dallas’ historic Hollywood-Santa Monica neighborhood. Priced at $298,977, I think the current owners are setting the bar kind of high, waiting for the right buyer to come along. Of course, they can do that, considering that this listing is relatively new.

The kitchen is great, with gorgeous cabinets and plenty of work surface. The only  thing that baffles me about it is the countertop. I kind of feel like an upgrade is in order, but maybe I will be outvoted.

The bathrooms look great, with beautiful tile and a frameless shower enclosure in the master. Altogether, it looks like these homeowners made some good choices when they invested in the house.

Otherwise, this is just a typical, solid family home in a highly desirable area with great schools that are inside (gasp!) DISD. That’s right — good public schools such as Lakewood Elementary and Woodrow Wilson High School. All this house needs is a couple of children!

This is my "hood" and all I can say is whoever buys this baby is in for tons of fun. Our neighborhood is notorious for fun! This is a fabulous deal!

Nice home overall. I will have to admit that the island needs a serious makeover and different countertops. Maybe the seller figures the buyer would rather be the one to chose new countertops and have the home priced just a little less to compensate. It's a theory.
