Hot Real Estate: Micah Parsons’ Dallas-area home

Yesterday’s bombshell news that Dallas defensive end Micah Parsons is headed for greener pastures has us sensing a pattern here. The Dallas Cowboys have traded their star defensive edge rusher to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for two first-round picks (2026 and 2027) and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark. In exchange, Parsons inked a four-year, $188 million contract — with $136 million fully guaranteed — making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history.

Despite the drama of a season-long contract stalemate, Parsons struck a tone of respect and humility in his post-trade statement:

“I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control… I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process.”

Off the Field: Family Comes First

Parsons came to Dallas as the Cowboys’ 2021 first-round pick out of Penn State.

Long before this trade saga, Parsons demonstrated how his priorities remain anchored in family. With this $17 million rookie contract, one of Parsons’ first acts was to buy his mother a new home in Parker —honoring a promise made long before he ever took the field. That gesture not only made headlines but told a deeper story: success isn’t just winning on the field, but lifting up those who lifted you.

When the trade was announced Thursday, he celebrated with his mom — both in tears. “That moment when your momma never got to work again,” he wrote.

In May 2021, Micah purchased the $1.3 million home in Parker with plenty of space for himself, his mother Sherese, his brother Da’ron Jennings, and “the most important member of the household,” his then- three-year-old son Malcolm, WFAA’s Mike Leslie reported in September 2021.

According to Collin County Appraisal District records, the 5,454-square-foot French Provincial home on Whitestone Drive just recently sold on July 30. The property was first listed for sale on April 11 for $1.9 million and spent 63 days on the market before selling for an estimated $1.67 million.

Parsons may be headed to Green Bay with a record-setting deal, but his first Dallas investment — a home for his mom — remains one of his most meaningful plays. In Dallas, his real estate story reflects the same drive and loyalty that made him a fan favorite on the field.
