Prosper Icon, Prime Time Legacy: Deion Sanders’ Former Estate Listed for $5.5M

Deion Sanders’ name is no longer on the deed, but this Prosper estate will always be his in local lore. The former Dallas Cowboy custom-built the sprawling mansion in 1999 — back when he was winning Super Bowls and the town of Prosper was more pasture than powerhouse. Heather Stevens of The Agency Real Estate has just listed the iconic property for $5.5 million, offering a rare chance to own one of North Texas’ most talked-about homes.

With its over-the-top footprint, the 6-acre, nearly 30,000 square foot property still carries Prime Time’s larger-than-life legacy — and possibly some of his furniture. The listing calls it an “architectural masterpiece” awaiting restoration, with over-the-top amenities like an indoor pool, basketball court, bowling alley, barbershop, and the showstopper — a 3,000-square-foot closet with its own glass walkway. Yes, Deion and his ex-wife Pilar had a primary suite closet that was larger than the average Dallas house.

From the listing:

“Spanning almost 30,000 square feet, the estate makes an unforgettable first impression with a dramatic grand foyer, highlighted by a floating double staircase, towering ceilings, marble floors that carry throughout the home, and floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the interiors in natural light. Crafted for extraordinary living, the manor features an expansive entertainment wing complete with a home theater, indoor pool, two-lane bowling alley, indoor basketball court, sauna, steam shower, barbershop, recreation room with bar, and a fitness center. Designed for refined taste and indulgent luxury, the massive primary suite boasts a fireplace, kitchenette, built-in laundry station, in-ground jetted spa, direct access to a two-car garage, and a showstopping 3, 000-square-foot custom two-story closet with a glass walkway and an integrated tailoring space.

Outside, the estate continues to impress with a view of the eight-acre fully stocked pond, private dock, outdoor pool, outdoor kitchen, and ample space for entertaining. The 14-bay garage includes two oversized bays to accommodate a yacht or RV, ensuring space for all your luxury vehicles and toys. Boasting a classic stucco architectural style, this one-of-a-kind property features 9 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, and 2 half baths, offering an extraordinary blend of comfort and functionality. This estate is being sold as-is and presents a rare opportunity for the next visionary owner to restore it to its original fame and grandeur.”

The First Time It Turned Our Head — 2011

This isn’t the first time we’ve covered the NFL Hall of Famer’s palace — far from it. In fact, we’ve been following it on CandysDirt.com since at least 2011, when Prosper had a population of 10,000 and neighboring Frisco was just beginning its meteoric rise.

Marketed as the “Ultimate Party and Family Ranch,” the 29,220-square-foot behemoth was on the market for a headline-grabbing $21 million. At the time, the home had 109 acres attached to it, a portion of which was sold to become the surrounding Montclair subdivision of luxury homes.

But back then, living in northern Collin County seemed so far-flung that our readers weren’t even sure what to make of it. “Why would anyone pay $21 million for a house in Frisco, TX (Egypt to you and me)?” one commenter quipped. Technically, it’s Prosper. But back then, even we rounded it down.

What was once considered “way out” would soon be squarely in the path of Collin County’s explosive growth.

Behind the Pearly Gates

By 2014, Prosper’s population had climbed past 14,000 and the secret was out: this land just off Preston Road and near U.S. 380 was prime real estate.

Candy took an insider tour of the property and documented it in a 2014 post on CandysDirt.com, sharing a first-hand look behind the mansion’s iconic gates. At the time, the home’s grandeur was still intact — and so was its celebrity cachet.

Today: Back on the Market

The current listing for 1400 Copper Point Dr. marks a new chapter for this Prosper legend. Priced at $5.5 million and sold as-is, the estate offers a rare opportunity for a buyer ready to embrace its bold bones and bring the home back to life.

Nearly 25 years later, Prosper finally caught up to Prime Time — now the question is, who’s ready to bring this icon back to life?
