2 DFW Neighborhoods Named Among Top 10 in America: Did Yours Make the List?

A Connecticut beach town topped Realtor.com’s latest list of the hottest neighborhoods in the U.S., but two Dallas-area communities weren’t far behind.

Lake Ridge in Cedar Hill ranked No. 6 nationally, thanks to its large homes, scenic lake views, and competitive price-per-square-foot. Preston Hollow, long known for its luxury estates and high-profile residents, landed at No. 7.

The ranking, released last month, is based on the number of views each listing received in January compared with the typical U.S. home. While some top neighborhoods offer million-dollar estates, others draw interest for their affordability, location, or unique charm.

“The more affordable neighborhoods near the top of the list likely draw buyer attention for their low home prices and considerable bang for your buck,” says Realtor.com senior economic research analyst Hannah Jones.

Here’s a look at the top trending neighborhoods:

1. Woodmont – Milford, CT

Taking the top spot, Woodmont in Milford, Connecticut, saw listings receive 3.5 times the views of the typical U.S. home in January. This coastal enclave between New Haven and Bridgeport offers charming beachfront properties, strong schools, and easy access to New York City.

2. Beverly Crest – Los Angeles, CA

Tucked between Bel-Air and the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Crest boasts some of the priciest real estate on this list, with a median home price of nearly $6 million. The 90210 zip code’s draw? A-list neighbors, stunning views, and proximity to luxury amenities.

  • Median home price: $5.97 million
  • Listing highlight: A six-bedroom, six-bath estate at 3254 Hutton Dr. is listed for $5.99 million.

3. Mt. Lebanon – Pittsburgh, PA

Just outside downtown Pittsburgh, Mt. Lebanon is a historic streetcar suburb with top-rated schools and walkable streets. Homes here offer a mix of old-world charm and modern convenience at prices well below the national median.

  • Listing highlight: A two-bedroom, two-bath townhouse at 8292 Waterline Dr. is listed for $340,000.

6. Lake Ridge – Cedar Hill, TX

Lake Ridge, a scenic neighborhood just southwest of Dallas, is catching eyes with its proximity to Joe Pool Lake and Cedar Hill State Park. The area offers large homes at a price-per-square-foot lower than the national average.

“Though the median home price in the Lake Ridge neighborhood of Cedar Hill, TX, was more than double the national median in January, the listing price per square foot was about $25 less than the national median, suggesting buyers in the area are drawn to the relatively large home size,” says Jones, Realtor.com’s senior analyst.

  • Median home price: $847,000
  • Listing highlight: A four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 2232 Donice Ct. is listed for $849,000. See the listing on Realtor.com

A typical home in the quaint coastal community was $924,750 last month, at $433 per square foot, making it the fourth most expensive area among the nation’s 10 most sought-after neighborhoods, as ranked by Realtor.com based on listing views.

  • Median home price: $924,750
  • Listing highlight: A three-bedroom, two-bath home at 42 Marshview Cir. is listed for $859,000.

10. Central Norwich – Norwich, CT

Dubbed the “Rose of New England,” Norwich has a rich history, a vibrant downtown, a bustling arts scene, and a top-notch public high school. The Central Norwich section of Norwich locked down the 10th spot on the list of the nation’s most popular neighborhoods, most likely due to its affordability. In fact, its median home price was 45% lower than the U.S. median, making it the most budget-friendly neighborhood out of the top 10.

At these prices, we had to take a closer look at the property there.

This 4,266-square-foot Victorian was built in 1870.
  • Median home price: $257,472
