This M-Streets Georgian on Morningside Ave. Doubles as The Neighborhood Hot Spot

Morningside Ave.

For the past nine years, this Morningside Ave. home has been the neighborhood stop.

There’s a Little Free Library out front where neighbors pick up a new book or drop off the one they just finished. There’s a dog-loving owner, who also created a Little Feeder filled with dog bones and dog bowls of fresh water.

It’s one of those houses you always hit when you’re on your morning – evening and most likely afternoon, too – walk.

The Place to Be in The M-Streets

Maybe it’s the brilliant blue front door, the stately architecture, or the location – two inches from iconic Greenville Avenue. Most likely it’s a mix of each of those with a solid dose of the couple that lives there. They’re the “everyone is welcome” and “the more the merrier” types. The ones that become the heart of the neighborhood. Whoever buys this home has some big shoes — a Little Free Library and feeder — to fill.

Compass Real Estate’s Amy Sack said the home has New Orleans vibes. Everyone comments on it. Not just for the social aspect, but the architecture as well. It’s a classic Georgian-style traditional home that was constructed in 2001. The elevation fits with the neighborhood and blends with the classic Tudor-style homes.

Morningside Ave. Home Goes With The Flow

On the inside, since it is newer construction, you get all the perks of today’s design – large rooms and a massive kitchen with all the countertop space and cabinets you’ve ever dreamed of. The kitchen opens to the living room, and then the living room is separated from the formal dining with a set of French doors. It’s that flow that adds to the social feel of the home. It was made for entertaining.

Adding to it even more? A complete separation of living and lounging because all the bedrooms are upstairs, including the incredible primary suite. It’s a huge room with a skylight and a chandelier and then it leads into the most amazing spa-like bathroom with an incredible shower grouped with a freestanding pebble-shaped bath that sits in front of a mega-picture window with privacy glass.

The closet is one of my dreams with built-in drawers, shoe cubbies, and section after section of hanging space. Plus it’s carpeted. Real soft on your little feetsies while you’re deciding which sequined caftan to put on that day. Because in this house, everything is glam. Even lounging.

Sack has 5704 Morningside Ave. listed at $1,174,900.

Love the house inside and out. Call me traditional but I think shutters would be nice on the second floor.
