Dallas Architecture Forum Hosts Argentinian Architect Rodolfo Machado Nov. 7

Rodolfo Machado has already left his mark on North Texas, but there’s still one stage that has yet to welcome the Argentinian Architect. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, The Dallas Architecture Forum will bring Machado to the Dallas Museum of Art as the organization’s next installment of its lecture series.

Among other well-known designs, North Texas residents will appreciate that Machado Silvetti, the firm that Machado co-founded with Jorge Silvetti, brought the award-winning design of the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design to life. That’s just one in the litany of projects that have earned Machado and his firm recognition from the AIA, Progressive Architecture, and more.

Machado was born in Buenos Aires and has resided in the United States his adult life. He studied Urban Design in Paris and UC Berkeley for his master’s and doctoral studies. Rodolfo has been a member of the Harvard University faculty since 1986 and a visiting critic or professor at Carnegie-Mellon, RISD, Yale, Rice, Princeton, and the University of Virginia. The studio’s writing is a recognized part of the architectural zeitgeist, and Machado Silvetti gifted their immense archives of drawings, models, and records to the Harvard GSD.

The lecture will be held in the Horchow Auditorium at the Dallas Museum of Art. The event is free for Dallas Architecture Forum members, $5 for students (with student ID), and $25 for general admission. Check-in and a pre-lecture reception will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Hamon Atrium.
