Westin Dallas Stonebriar

Fresh from a $30 million full-property revitalization, the Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa has gone full family friendly, aiming to attract local families with children who might stop to play for a single day or an entire, pre-planned week staycation.

The resort kicked off 2023 with a family day devoted to LEGO. Celebrating National LEGO Day in January, kids were treated to a LEGO party with North Texas-based Bricks4Kidz, LEGO glasses (who knew they had these?), play time, food, and a private screening of Disney’s The LEGO Movie.

The Westin Dallas Stonebriar — technically about 8 miles north of Dallas — has been a retreat for business and leisure travelers to Frisco ever since the property was developed in 2000. Now, freshly reopened after the comprehensive renovation, it hopes to attract young families and kiddos to the vastly green knolls of grass outside and myriad of kid-friendly activities inside the hotel.

Located near the northwest corner of Legacy Drive and State Highway 121, the Westin Stonebriar has 302 rooms, a spa, restaurant, and corporate meeting space. The renovation included a new on-site golf pro shop, a fitness studio, the TopGolf Swing Suite, a daytime coffee bar and cocktail lounge, and a full-service Southern restaurant. It is owned by Western Securities.

The Westin Dallas Stonebriar plans more mini-camp options for local residents seeking day-only staycations. The hotel is also launching a Little Glampers Retreat package for guests —staycation or traveling — including an in-room glamping experience, tent, and turn-down service with milk and cookies, plus full access to the resort’s heated outdoor pool and waterslide and three dining options.
