6 Home Design Features We Love That You Can Contemplate Doing One of These Days

Share News:

This year, we ran across so many listings that sparked our interest and creativity. Here are a few of them.

We all love looking at houses, right? I mean that’s why you’re here. It’s fun to see what other people come up with in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, we can steal that style. Even if you can’t it’s still fun to say you’re going to do it, then buy all the materials then stall out during the actual now-we’re-doing-it phase. Oh? Just me?

Anyway, here are six design features you can add to your home’s repertoire.

Unexpected Built-in Furniture

200 W. Rio Grande in Garland

Up first? This about-as-original-as-they-come custom home had serious style back in the day. What else did it have? A built-in bed with drawers. I’ve seen a set in more recent construction buy only at the behest of the owners. (It was a remodel.)

Should we all bring back permanently affixed furniture? Heck yes, we should. But first, let’s meet the O.G. at 200 W. Rio Grande.

A Chic Door Color

1718 Berkley Avenue

Doors come in all shapes and sizes. OK, not really. They’re mostly rectangle, but they do come in just about every shade you can think of … mostly because you can paint them.

We see a lot of poppy oranges and yellows, but it’s not every day you see such a lovely, lovely lavender. Thanks for coloring our world, 1718 Berkley Avenue.

Room to Park Your Dually

7115 Clemson Drive

Welcome to Texas where the only thing we love more than trucks is jacked-up trucks. And now there’s something to love even more — a garage where they actually fit. I say yee, you say haw. Let’s give it up for 7115 Clemson Drive.

Unique Landing View

8823 Groveland Drive

A little peekaboo window to downstairs is nothing new, but one that’s shaped like a circle with custom railing to fit that curve is definitely something to talk about. So I am. Right here, right now. Circle gets the square at 8823 Groveland Drive.

Sinks And Beautiful Barrel-Vaults

2218 Carnes Street

Sinks don’t typically get a lot of love, but this custom triangle stainless steel sink is deserving of all the hearts. Paired with those plank-lined, barrel-vaulted ceilings? Bestill all those hearts I just graciously doled out. Keep livin’ the dream, 2218 Carnes Street.

Really Cute Range

1147 Kings Highway

Do you love to cook? Me neither! But honestly, I might give it a shot if I had this super sunny yellow, high-end slide-in range. Just kidding, I most definitely would not. But it’s so pretty and fun to look at. Love you lots, 1147 Kings Highway.
