These Home Inspections Will Make You Feel Extra Thankful These Aren’t Your Home

Every week, the detail-oriented folks at Green Scene Home Inspections will give CandysDirt.com readers an education in inspection. Want to see what they see? Tune in for “Upon Closer Inspection.”

This time of year, it’s important to reflect on the things for which you are thankful. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, every homeowner (well, almost every homeowner) can be grateful that this isn’t your house:

Crawl Space Catastrophe

We get it — crawl spaces are scary and hard to get into, But here’s a good reason why you should get in there and check it out from time to time.

This will be an extensive (and costly) repair. Be thankful you can pay people to do that for you!

MAJOR Wind Damage

You read that right — that’s from one of those crazy windy days we had recently. It looks like something out of a Transformers movie. It’s scary how much damage high-velocity wind can do. We hold these folks and everyone with storm damage in our thoughts and hope they have a safe and happy holiday. We’re thankful no one was hurt.

Leftover Pizza Anyone?

Somebody forgot something when they were setting up the house for showing. I’m thankful that’s not my dinner.

Prehistoric Pipes

Be thankful that your toilet doesn’t sound like this. Seriously, what is even happening with this toilet?

One of the joys of homeownership is the seemingly never-ending to-do list of repairs and maintenance. But we’re thankful for the (leaky) roofs over our heads and the (creaky) floors under our feet. We’re thankful for a thriving real estate market and for the people who trust us to inspect their homes.

We wish you a very Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!
