Take a Dip in East Dallas in This Forest Hills Home

I love Forest Hills. It’s one of my favorite neighborhoods in Dallas. You can’t beat the location. I think we all know this, but I’ll hit the highlights just in case we have a newbie tuning in for the first time.

It’s tucked away in East Dallas, across from White Rock Lake and the Arboretum. There are several cute and cool shopping centers over there. And restaurants — with new ones being added every day like Thunderbird Pies, the newish Detroit pizza concept from your pals at Cane Rosso. (It’s right next door, too.)

Forest Hills is also walking distance to St. Francis Park, complete with playground and tennis courts. Then there’s the big lots, not Big Lots, but big actual lots. You can’t, like, look into your neighbor’s house. Praise hands. All the houses are custom and different with a mix of every style you can think of.

It’s an outdoor enthusiast type of neighborhood. Lots of walks and waves. Well-manicured lawns and tasteful decorations.

And, as Compass Real Estate’s Jeff Mitchell also pointed out, there’s the tie to trails and the water. We mentioned that earlier, but it’s got those good old fashioned Austin vibes where Lady Bird Lake reigns supreme.

San Cristobal is a street in the center of it all and this house is set on almost one third of an acre. It’s set back from the street and then sprawls a little in the back, too. The floorplan is open concept, but the spaces are defined. It’s thoughtful, it’s delightful, and pretty timeless, too.

It’s updated and most of the work was complete prior to the current owners moving in, but they still said watch this and upped the ante with a heated pool out back. Mitchell rightfully stated everyone is after a pool these days. Especially since we’re still spending more time at home.

There’s also a flex space that can be used as a home office or playroom, and in the large Primary suite, they actually added a partial wall to define a seating area and make the room feel even cozier. You could easily knock out a Zoom back there, too. It’s also like your own private living area making it even more convenient to fall half asleep watching whatever then drag yourself to bed.

If you’d like a tour, head that way today or Sunday where Jeff Mitchell will hold 8331 San Cristobal Drive open from noon to 4 p.m. He’s going hard on that Open House because he said they sell so quickly these days, he’s pumped for the opportunity. It’s listed for $875,000.
