Elmwood is at it Again, Being All Cute And Stuff

Some houses are cute. Some houses have great locations. And some houses have both. This is one of those.

It’s over on Homewood Place in Oak Cliff and it’s listed by Compass’ Jenni Stolarski. She said, “Have you ever been on Homewood?” I said, “I HAVE NOT.” She said, “Well let me tell you, it’s an amazing little cul-de-sac with a creek out front so you only have neighbors on either side of you and it feels so secluded and private.”

And no, she did not really say, “Well, let me tell you.” I added that. Why? Nobody knows.

ANYWAY, this wonderful little Oak Cliff Tudor is actually pretty big for the era. It’s 1,582 square feet. How’d they do that? Magic? Nope. AN ADDITION. Keep that square footage in mind when I tell you, it’s also a two-bedroom, one-bathroom house. What? YEP. That’s like REAL big for a 2/1.

So now we know it’s spacious and that bathroom is legit LARGE. The closets are generous, too. And here’s where the extra square feet went – there’s an office big enough to accommodate two desks and those LOVELY, breezy, gauzy curtains. Makes you feel like you’re a little mythical being hard at work at Mythical Being, Inc. or whatever. That or you’re in the middle of an R&B slow jam. Either way, you’re winning at the home office.

Now the final, final surplus square footage in this house goes to … drumroll … a UTILITY ROOM. It’s roomy, too. There’s shelving and lots of room for all your Swiffers and Bonas and maybe even a stick vac or two. Plus, obviously room for a full-size washer and dryer as well and it’s so wide you could install your own clothesline right there in the indoors.

It’s just a total charmer, gang, both inside AND out. On the exterior, you can see that they opted out of all arched windows, and then when you head inside you know why. The squared-off windows give the interior a more modern look. Well, that and soft, neutral paint, light fixtures, hardware, etc.

Plus that fully remodeled kitchen, complete with a wood accent wall. And nice touch, homeowners, with the green in the wall tying to the pottery throughout the kitchen.

Now I’m going to flip back to the location like a total spazz because I forgot to wrap up why it’s so awesome.

Tyler Station is literally within walking distance and there’s a coffee shop, a coworking space, and a brewery. There’s a DART Light Rail station not THAT much farther and there’s the on-its-way-up Wynnewood Village Shopping Center that is currently in the process of a multi-million dollar update. There’s also a multi-mile walking and biking trail right out front, too.

And this is Elmwood, people. We’ve already talked about the Community Garden, active neighborhood association, and overall sweetness.

Stolarski has 1615 Homewood Place listed for $375,000.
