Enjoy Craftsman Style With Modern Convenience in Winnetka Heights

Listing agent Cynthia Payne Drennan of Dave Perry-Miller calls this 2018 modern craftsman “magazine ready” and she’s right. (Though we’re new media here. We prefer the term “CandysDirt.com ready.”) This week’s High Caliber Home of the Week, sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans, is situated at 822 S. Edgefield Drive near North Oak Cliff’s Winnetka Heights neighborhood, where this newer build blends in beautifully with original 1920s and 1930s Craftsmans.

Modern Craftsmans like this have been thoughtfully designed and built to reflect the character of nearby Winnetka Heights’ original homes. Within this three-bedroom, two-bath home with 1,781 square feet, you’ll find stunning rich hardwoods throughout the open living, dining, and kitchen area, plus the primary bedroom. But honestly, they look so good, I forgot these floors aren’t original and the home was built just a few years ago. They shine beautifully against the matte charcoal fireplace wall with updated tile.

With a newer home you get newer windows, newer electrical and plumbing, and [game show drumroll…] this all-new(er) kitchen. It features a full suite of Kitchen Aid stainless steel appliances including a five-burner gas stove, double oven, and microwave built into the kitchen island.

There’s more to love: an extra-large owner’s suite with a luxurious bathroom including a glass shower, soaking tub, and large walk-in closet.

“The super-smart floor plan gives you space where you want it,” Payne Drennan says. Inside, you’ll find plenty of kitchen storage, a spacious master bedroom walk-in closet, and built-in mud cubby. That’s what I’m calling this well-proportioned mud room with overhead cabinet storage.

A covered back patio leads to floating deck, adding 350 square feet of outdoor living space. And another great thing about a newer build, a two-car garage with lots of storage. Lots to love about this lovely.

Cynthia Payne Drennan has listed 822 S. Edgefield for $525,000.

Hi, you mislead your readers by stating several times that this home is in Winnetka Heights, which is an actual historic district 4 blocks north of this house. That’s problematic.

We don’t mean to mislead that this home is in the WH district, but rather near.
