A Full Blown Branch Stair Rail Isn’t Even The Coolest Thing About This House

I’m going to start by bumming you the heck out. This one is already Under Contract, which we try to avoid, but sometimes a house comes along that’s so cool we have no choice. This is that house. My hands were tied here, dear Canditos, and I HAVE TO POST IT.

Barbaree Boulevard is an anomaly of a street located over behind Forest Hills. It’s right by the train tracks and the Fraternal Order of Eagles pool. There are no curbs, no picket fences, and it feels a lot like a country road. Lots of foliage. It’s quiet. A little unassuming. A total mix of house sizes and styles and then along comes this one. Good grief is it cool. Super modern, but totally totally rustic feeling, too? It’s on a huge lot. There’s a pool and so much grass you’re going to need a riding mower.

The cedar accents mixed with green siding is just too much. So awesome. Inside, it just gets better and better. A cedar lined ceiling right inside the front door. Soaring ceilings at that. Real hardwoods throughout. A built-in China cabinet or hutch or whatever the heck you want to call it and then in the kitchen, another pop of green on the Shaker-style cabinets BELOW, with white taking it home up top.

Then in the living area, right next to the solid rock fireplace, more built-ins on either side. If you want to lose your mind, take a look at the railing on that staircase. IT’S TREE BRANCHES. I mean, not really, but yes?

The only thing upstairs is the primary bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a balcony so you can sip coffee and pretty much just look out at all the freaking land you just scored. It’s almost an acre.

There’s a separate building that can be used as guest quarters or an office or a place to stash all lottery tickets you should be buying if you were the one lucky enough to call this one home.

The chicken coup out back is custom as well and it’s just as cool as the main house.

If you’re into decking of any sort, you’ll be all over this one. The pool is surrounded by Ipe decking which Google once called “the finest wood decking material available.” Come on, is Google gonna lie?

Dave Perry-Miller’s Tana Parsons listed 8176 Barbaree for $795,000. If you’d like to see more of this four-bedroom, three-bathroom wonder, click that addy above.
