If you’re longing for the Hamptons beach lifestyle but have no intention of leaving Dallas, we’ve got an excellent solution. Abby Simpton just completed this dramatic yet completely charming Hamptons dream home, and it will make you feel as if Amagansett Beach is only steps outside the backdoor.

“I love to pick a style and keep it authentic throughout,” Simpton said. ”I do a great deal of research on architectural history. We went to the Hamptons a few years ago, and I fell in love with the style. While we were there, we kept running into people from Highland Park on vacation.

Simpton started thinking about how much Park Cities homeowners love the Hamptons and that there are only a handful of Hamptons-style homes in the neighborhood. It was immediately apparent this would be the design for her ninth project.

A Case Study in Hamptons Style

Simpton dives into the deep end of the design process on every home and creates as if each home were for her own family. There are no big white boxes in her brain, thank goodness.

Working with San Antonio architect Brian Allen of Odyssey Design Studios, LLC and builder Rob Grasso of Ellen Grasso & Sons, Simpton and her team have turned out another gorgeous, one-of-a-kind house.

“My favorite thing about this home is the porches,” Simpton said. “They give this house that extra detail and character of the Hamptons. We want people to feel they are stepping into a beach resort lifestyle. The front porch is a wrap-around and pretty deep for the lot size. The back porch has telescoping doors that entirely recede into the walls allowing the family room to open to the screened porch.”

Simpton added a quintessentially Hampton’s touch with a Dutch door.

Simpton also added an enormous balcony to the upstairs principal suite overlooking the pool and backyard, creating an indoor-outdoor feel where you least expect it.

This 7,292-square-foot Hamptons dream home has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and two powder baths. There is a media/playroom over the three-car garage, and get this — alley access — a rarity in the Park Cities.
