The Artful Eye of Paige Poupart Makes This East Dallas Remodel Pop

Compass’ Paige Poupart is a real estate agent, designer and in the case of this Casa View Haven midcentury bungalow, she was one half of a general contractor, too.

Poupart is known for her remodels in the area. She works with investors and a team of dreamweavers to bring her ideas to life.

One of those on her dream team? Her father. He’s a woodworker and a bit of a magician so all the custom trim and cabinetry stays in the family. Another member of her crew is a tile guy, but let’s get real. He’s an artist.

The tile inlay on the shower floor is a Poupart original that her tile guy brought to life. She said he’s gotten wise to her ways over the years and knows she’s always looking for something different, elevated and occasionally intricate.

Poupart is also the master at sourcing new materials. The custom vanity in the bathroom is meganite, a medical grade acrylic that her dad was able to cut and shape like wood. 

In the kitchen they went predominantly with butcher block countertops. Poupart said butcher block wears well — she has it in her own kitchen and oils it every night. In fact, Paige said the only things to avoid are soap and water, ketchup (the acid in the vinegar creates an icky stain) and knives. Common misconception? Maybe not, but I didn’t know. DO NOT CUT ON THE BUTCHER BLOCK.

One more area where her dad’s wood skills and her penchant for creative solutions came in handy? The garage conversion. Poupart said there was a difference in the ceiling height, and she didn’t want it to be obvious and funky so they created those boxed beams to run the lengths of the original house and “drop” the ceiling to the height of the garage. 

One more thing to point out is the seemingly fire-glazed tile in the shower. It has the look that is so freaking cool, but guess what? It’s actually a porcelain tile Poupart found at Floor & Décor. It’s a more cost-effective solution and hello, it’s so good. She said that’s one of her secrets to share – Floor & Décor, Tile Bar and even ProSource have some really great products. It doesn’t all have to be Ann Sacks, y’all.

Of course it doesn’t hurt to have Poupart’s creativity on the case. Seriously, her remodels are spectacular, which is why this one sold in just a few days, and even if it wasn’t this market, it still would. It’s reasonably priced, fully updated, and special.

This East Dallas gem at 10015 Estacado was listed at $399,000 — and as I said, it’s already gone — but be on the lookout for more like this. Poupart and her team of investors are starting at least one new one this summer. 

Poupart said this house was extra special, too, because it was a girl power moment. The investor was female and this was her first house. Slow clap, y’all. Well done.
