This Oak Lawn Condo Is Perfect For Your Burgeoning Adulthood

Over in Oak Lawn there’s a street called Newton Avenue. It’s so perfectly tree-lined, you’ll assume there’s a director down the road calling all the shots.

*Aaaaand cue the adorable couple with their lovable lab.*

Newton Avenue is also walking distance to some of the best restaurants and retail in the city, but it’s set far enough away that it feels like a quiet little corner. It’s the best location for those at the stage of “I’m still cool, but sometimes I like to be in bed by 9:00 p.m.” And seriously, same.

If you ARE at that stage, 4143 Newton Avenue, Apartment A, just might be for you. It’s a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,125-square-foot condo with a huge balcony-deck-outdoor-living space that’s perfect for mature get-togethers because again, we’re occasionally in bed by 9:00 p.m.

There are four other units in the complex and they all share a pool. But that’s like one in five odds you’ll be out there all alone and have the place to yourself. (Head’s up: Those odds might be off, too, because guess what? NOT A MATH MAJOR.)

Once you step inside the apartment, the first thing you notice is how much it feels like a home. A legit, I’m going to live here awhile home. It’s been updated with hardwood floors and renovated bathrooms, and shaker style kitchen cabinets. (The cabinets even have lazy susans built-in and the “pantry” has roll-out drawers. Plus up!)

There’s a small office with built-in cabinets and a desk up a very short flight of stairs. It’s a real, hold-my-calls-I’m-wearing-a-headset-and-practicing-business space.

Back down the short flight of stairs is the main living with soaring ceilings and a gas-burning fireplace. Way up top there’s even a skylight AND IT HAS A WINDOW COVERING. Yeah, a sliding honeycomb shade that goes across it horizontally. If you’re ever in a real Daria place and need to dark out your living space, YOU CAN.

Rounding out our guided word tour are the bedrooms. Both are downstairs and each has their own bathroom. The secondary bedroom has a built-in cabinet system around it to maximize storage. It’s just a crazy efficient little space.

And if you need more outdoors? YOU GOT ‘EM. There’s a walkout private patio off the primary bedroom.

If you’d like to take a look at 4143 Newton Avenue, Apartment A, give Janine Bayer with Ebby Halliday a call. It’s listed at $325,000.
