Suburb Sunday Takes Us to Kennedale Full of Family Homes to Love

Share News:

Kennedale has really good dirt. Known for mineral-rich land and a long-running brickyard that thrived on ideal soil for making bricks, Kennedale is home to about 8,000 residents who appreciate the quaint bedroom community’s proximity to Mansfield, Arlington, and Fort Worth. The southeastern Tarrant County city is named for a Kennedy — a settler named Oliver Kennedy who purchased land at a mineral well nearly 140 years ago. For this week’s Suburb Sunday, we dug up some good dirt on three great homes ranging from $450,000 to $223,000.

Address: 1005 Oakridge Court, Kennedale

  • 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bath
  • 3,302 square feet
  • $449,900

Suzanne Key of Ebby Halliday Arlington has listed this nearly one acre treed lot, a custom 1985-built home that’s waiting for someone to update with their style make it their own. The living area, which has a brick fireplace and masonry box flanked by two sets of built-ins, has vaulted ceilings and railed overlook from the second floor. The adjacent kitchen has granite countertops, tile backsplash, and black appliances including cooktop, oven, built-in microwave, and dishwasher. A beautiful office space has a wall of windows overlooking the dramatic backyard with a large wood deck that steps down to an in-ground pool.

Address: 616 Joy Lane, Kennedale

  • 3 bedrooms, 2 bath
  • 1,447 square feet
  • $223,000

Listing agent Jennifer Patterson of Pinnacle Realty Advisors says nearly everything in this 1970-built house has been updated in a 2019 remodel. “Walls were moved, flooring redone, countertops upgraded, and a pool installed,” she says. The detached two-car garage has a large workshop space and air-conditioned back office. The kitchen features granite countertops, white tile backsplash, and white appliances including gas cooktop, oven, built-in microwave, and dishwasher. The master suite has a sitting area adjacent to the bathroom vanity. There’s plenty of room to play in the backyard and splash around in the above-ground pool that could be decked out if you’re feeling particularly handy.
