Want to learn about the economy of one of the most thriving pockets of Dallas? The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce Economic Summit will focus on “East Dallas Works,” an examination of the community’s dedication to education, growth, the workforce, and development.

And this year’s summit, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Campbell Centre at 8250 North Central Expressway in Dallas, will once again give economic updates regarding the east side of Dallas, but also provide opportunities for the business community to network.

Why should you pick up a ticket today? The GEDCC provided us with four solid reasons:

  1.  East Dallas Works…for Strong and Diverse Communities. How? Attend our 15th Annual Economic Summit to hear about top initiatives in each East Dallas Council District that will target Economic Growth.  East Dallas is the proud home to 3 of the newest City Councilmembers and the Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, all with big plans for their respective Council Districts. You won’t want to miss the Economic Growth and Outlook segment of our program with D14 Councilman David Blewett, D7 Councilman Adam Bazaldua, D9 City Councilwoman Paula Blackmon & D10 Councilman/Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam McGough.
  2. East Dallas Works…for Opportunities. We are delighted to have Vice President/Senior Economist Pia Orrenius from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas to spotlight “Texas Economy Strong but Uncertainty Clouds the Near-Term Outlook.”  As we ‘round the corner into an election year, this segment should be quite interesting for us all!
  3. East Dallas Works…for Growth and Value.  Ahhhh, Dallas Real Estate. Where have we been and, more importantly, where are we going? Dallas Morning News Real Estate Editor Steve Brown, will again be with us to share the highs, the lows and the “what’s next.”
  4. East Dallas Works…for Entrepreneurs.  This year’s Keynote presentation will actually be a “fireside chat” (without the fire, of course!) with two Dallas entrepreneurs with strong East Dallas ties, interesting journeys of endeavors across industries, and they just so happen to be married to each other! Alexa Conomos, best known as the former WFAA Anchor, media consultant and recent Podcaster with Ron Corning & her husband, Brandley Anderson, who is recognized Dallas attorney by day and a restauranteur by night (think Hillside Tavern, Veritas Wine Bar, Boulevardier and Rapscallion) will talk with us about being an entrepreneur, the transition/balance of having a “day job” and an “entrepreneurial endeavor” and we might even get a few inside secrets on their life together as parents to their three young children.  No filters on this fun chat, but if you are not there, you might miss the scoop!

CC Young is this year’s Presenting Sponsor, and Oncor and Comerica Bank are confirmed as a Gold Sponsor.  Additional sponsors include: CandysDirt.com as a Media Sponsor, Veritex Community Bank as a Silver Sponsor, Bishop Lynch High School as a Bronze Sponsor, and Hillside Tavern as the Keynote Sponsor. Sponsorship Levels range from $1,500, $2,500, and $5,000. Host Tables are $500.

The 2019 GEDCC Economic Summit Co-Chairs include Richard Moore with Lakewood Title and Darlene Ellison with Veritex Community Bank.
