Today: R&R at the 505, Where Buying a Lot Gets You a Whole Darn Ranch

Share News:

We are hot on the 505 Ranch at Cedar Creek Lake, one of the few ownership ranch concepts in Texas, where buying a one-acre lot nets you a whole lot more (pardon our pun): There is an entire ranch at your disposal.

And if you have ever considered owning a lake house, today is the perfect time to find out if the fit is good for YOU. First up, the 505 is so darn close to Dallas. So close, in fact, that you can get in your car at 10 a.m. and be at a very special 505 event even later this morning! Can’t make it till 2 p.m? No worries, the event goes until 4 p.m., Mabank-time.

What’s happening at the 505 today is what happens just about every weekend. Folks will be test driving a Malibu 2019 22MXV or 23LSV, then check out the magnificent open houses from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Do you dare to hop the ATV track on one of the top-of-the-line Can-Am Turbo Mavericks? Go ahead and get wet: try wakeboard lesson before the lake season starts, administered by Waterski America.  ATV rides are operated by Brinson Powersports; all concierge services are provided by Prep My Lakehouse, so your lake house visits are free of chores. Chow down on Burgers With Bob, and bites and beverages from Festive Kitchen.

WHAT: 505 Ranch Club Lake Lot Concours

WHEN: Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Because the 505 is so close to Dallas, people often start buying an acre or two — the homesites are set so far apart, you will never see your neighbors,” says Suzanne Warner of Compass, who is marketing the Cedar Creek Lake property for Eastern Partners. “They end up loving it so much, they buy more and more, compiling compounds.”

It’s safe, it’s secure, and unlike many similar communities, every lot at the 505 has a lake view, thanks to miles of shoreline.

Adds Suzanne. “And you can own your own private boat dock so you can hit the water whenever the spirit moves you, at any time, day or even night.”

I mean, isn’t that why you want to have a lake house, to be on the lake?

The 505 Ranch at Cedar Creek Lake is on the shores of the fourth largest lake in Texas, covering 32,623 acres, perfectly located on 1.5 miles of the best shoreline on the north end of the lake. Home-owners on this end can enjoy all of the water sport amenities with the privacy of family or friends, creating a very private lake experience. And again, because of the property’s unique configuration, it’s like having those activities in your backyard.

The ranch is also loaded with trees.

“You really feel like you are four hours from Dallas,” says Suzanne, “but the ranch is only 45 minutes away. And when the temperature drops at  Cedar Creek, it drops immediately, because there is no concrete emitting radiant heat.”

Most Dallas families love that they can get out to the ranch on a Friday, enjoy a late afternoon wakeboard,  a sunset sail or trail ride, and still make it back for Saturday morning soccer practice.

But young families and empty nesters are not the only ones buying up land in this gated, secure ranch oasis. Retirees find the 505 the perfect spot for the golden years, and they are still perfectly accessible to children and family who live out of state: DFW Airport is only an one hour and 15-minute drive, and the medical facilities in nearby Mabank are some of the finest.

And now, says Suzanne, there is another dimension to the 505 Ranch that is setting it apart from other developments: Harbor Point Airport, a nearby airfield one-half mile away where you can land helicopters and smaller aircraft. It makes getting to the ranch almost effortless.

“When people get into semi-retirement, many like to get their helicopter and pilots licenses,” says Suzanne. “The 505 has a place for them to land.”

It’s a feature other lake home communities do not offer.

“Get to your ranch in 15 minutes,” says Suzanne. “As you fly over the 5 o’ clock traffic!”

Just a 45 minute drive from downtown Dallas, this private gated ranch community offers a myriad of luxurious amenities and activities: state of the art polo field and equestrian center, including staff to feed and care for owner’s horses in your absence, arena, stables for private lease, 24-hour ranch staff, clubhouse, guest cottages, infinity pool, biking and ATV trails, skeet range, stocked fishing ponds, wakeboarding, skiing, paddle boarding, sailing, canoeing, holiday festivities, and the best 4th of July fireworks show on Cedar Creek Lake.

And did we mention horses?

“The May 4 event is not just about the beautiful homes for sale, but also bringing the community together,” said Warner, who is showcasing a stunning Hill Country Modern on 2.73 acres at 301 Sun Valley. The Mabank home is listed for $2.1 million in and is on view this weekend.

This masterpiece property will also be open for a Parade of Homes happening at the 505 Ranch Club later today from 2 to 4 p.m. Joining the parade will be another stunning waterfront escape property on 6.3 acres within this 505-plus acre gated ranch development.

And get ready to see what 505 Ranch Club offers — way too much.

“We’re coming in hot this summer at 505 Ranch Club at Cedar Creek Lake,” Warner said. “The water may be cool, but development has not slowed down its momentum, with eight private homes currently under construction. Just a few lots are left.”

At this rate, says Suzanne, the ranch will be 100 percent sold out come fall!
