If I wanted to write about a premiere listing in Rivercrest, Westover, or Montserrat, chances were better than even I would be looking at a John Zimmerman listing. In fact, at times it was difficult not to write about star agent John Zimmerman.

Since moving to the high-tech, New York-based Compass agency, Zimmerman has continued to thrive with an impressive record of multimillion-dollar sales and a dazzling portfolio of properties on offer. It has been a while since I’ve covered  a John Zimmerman listing, but after writing this I notice that my noble publisher and I are quite literally on the same page today. No matter. A garden home in Ridglea Hills, No. 11 at 4900 Westridge is too wonderful to ignore.

Situated in the gated The Gardens subdivision, the detached, zero-lot-line house in a cul de sac backing up to the Ridglea Country Club golf course gracefully melds with its lush setting in the best tradition of O’Neil Ford.  Inside are nearly 4,000 square feet of sweeping, contemporary, open-concept living with three bedrooms and three full baths. A powder room is located on the ground floor.

The double-height living room is overlooked by a gallery, which fairly floats above it. The dining area of more intimate proportions lies at the back of the house.

The kitchen, along with the master bath, have undergone a thorough renovation since the house was built in 1986. New cabinetry sports quartz counter tops. There are in-wall double ovens with an additional oven in the free-standing gas range.

Abundant open space make the residence ideal for nearly effortless entertaining. Behind the kitchen, open to the dining area, is a wet bar with a stainless steel wine cooler.

The massive, high-ceilinged master bedroom with golf course views is on the ground floor with a sitting area centered on a second fireplace.

The recently renovated master bath is equipped  with wide dual sinks, separate shower, and garden tub. There is a linen closet as well as spacious walk-in closets.

There are two bedrooms on the second level joined by a long Jack-and-Jill bath. One of the bedrooms is being used as a work out area with views to tempt even the most lethargic among us to exercise.

This house has it all, including a fully stocked utility room, a home office tucked into a ground-floor corner, and a safe room. And then there is the outdoor living area — a verdant oasis with incomparable views of the golf course and a playful fountain set into a private community pond. There is a mandatory association with quarterly dues of $1,750 to maintain all of this.
