When the grand Aledo estate at 107 Nueces Trail was listed for the first time ever, Southern Living magazine called it “Every Texan’s Dream.” They quoted listing agent John Zimmerman, who was with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty at the time, telling the Dallas Morning News it was “the biggest residential estate in Parker County that I can remember in the last 25 years.” He likened it to the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill County Resort, just north of SA’s outer 1604 loop. Methinks it’s more reminiscent of the La Cantera Resort and exotic like the Eagles’ Hotel California album cover — without all the connotation.

The Mediterranean estate naturally piques the interest of neighbors and all that see it on the horizon, and rightfully so. With a mission style silhouette set against the rolling plains west of Fort Worth, this 19,265-square-foot custom estate was meticulously-built for a Texas oilman and philanthropist. But simply type the first few letters of a Google search about the property and you’ll understand the folklore that surrounds the home: Who owns 107 Nueces Trail Aledo Tx, Nueces Trail Aledo builder, Biggest house in Aledo all pop up as popular search suggestions. Here’s a look inside the seven-bedroom, 12-bath “biggest house in Aledo” now on the market for $6.99 million, marketed by John Zimmerman of Compass Real Estate Texas.

For a Realtor that trades in luxury real estate, John Zimmerman is hitting the accelerator. As one of Fort Worth’s leading residential agents, Zimmerman has made a name for himself marketing the biggest and the best estates in Cowtown. That’s still his milieu, but he’s also marketing something completely new to Tarrant County.

It’s the answer to some very pressing questions: What’s a guy to do when the garage of his dream house no longer fits all of his toys? What’s a guy to do when he has an empty nest and downsizes to a high-rise, condo, or townhome where parking is limited? What’s a guy to do when his car club has outgrown its current digs, but he’s ready to upgrade to a space of his own?

Those guys need Motorplace USA, Zimmerman says. “Motorplace USA is the first of its kind in Fort Worth,” he added.

Man and the land. One of the most wonderful things about living in Texas is, I believe, the fabulous access to land we have in our outlying communities. Sure, we are getting ever more vertical in our urban cores — and that’s great — but then sometimes, some of us want to go home, put the phone on mute, settle back with a glass of wine (Prosecco, if you must know) and just relax.

And wouldn’t you just love relaxing with a home-on-the-range view like this one?

I am obsessing over all you get with this brand new, lived-in-just-one year build by Integrity Homes in La Cantera, on the western edge of Fort Worth, one of the area’s most elite, private, guarded and gated neighborhoods. The community is situated on one of the highest points in Tarrant County. First of all, 1.182 acres. Yes, you read that right, and when you see the price of this home you are going to tell me I’m lying. I can hardly wait for this listing to make it’s way across the internet to California… folks out there will salivate.

The home at 4924 Arbol Court was built in 2017 by Integrity Homes in 2017. And that giant acreage lot is, by the way, on a corner in gated and 24-hour guard-secured La Cantera.

Westridge Ave.

If I wanted to write about a premiere listing in Rivercrest, Westover, or Montserrat, chances were better than even I would be looking at a John Zimmerman listing. In fact, at times it was difficult not to write about star agent John Zimmerman.

Since moving to the high-tech, New York-based Compass agency, Zimmerman has continued to thrive with an impressive record of multimillion-dollar sales and a dazzling portfolio of properties on offer. It has been a while since I’ve covered  a John Zimmerman listing, but after writing this I notice that my noble publisher and I are quite literally on the same page today. No matter. A garden home in Ridglea Hills, No. 11 at 4900 Westridge is too wonderful to ignore. (more…)

Magnolia West

This Magnolia West home at 157 Magnolia Lane was built by JAAVA Custom Homes, and is one of several guests can tour at a holiday event this Saturday hosted by the John Zimmerman Group.

The John Zimmerman Group has come up with a fool-proof way to get a little holiday shopping done, check out Fort Worth’s Magnolia West community, and even catch the Texas-OU Big 12 Championship this Saturday, all in the same place.

The Realtor, who is with Compass, has planned a progressive event that will allow visitors to move from home to home in Fort Worth’s new gated neighborhood adjacent to Shady Oaks Country Club and Westworth Park. The event will run Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a wine tasting at 201 Magnolia Lane at 3 p.m., hosted by Napa Valley winemaker Modus Operandi Wine.

JAAVA Custom Homes also built 201 Magnolia Lane, which will be the site of a wine tasting with Modus Operandi Wines.

Bites will be courtesy Ellerbe Fine Foods, Joe Riscky’s Barbeque, Lettuce Cook, Campisi’s, and Lonesome Dove (each home will feature a different popular Fort Worth restaurant), and holiday cocktails will also be served. (more…)

As we previously reported, Fort Worth-based real estate super agent John Zimmerman has become the first and newest member of the Fort Worth office of Compass, an upstart technology and real estate company.

Tabbing Zimmerman as agent No. 1 on the Fort Worth roster hardly comes as a surprise.

“I’m having my most successful year,” explained Zimmerman in a recent interview with CandysDirt.com.  “Compass is the most sophisticated company in the real estate world. Why would I jump to a new broker if I didn’t believe that they could offer buyers and sellers a substantial amount more.”

The real estate world is buzzing today as Compass announced that high-profile real estate agent, John Zimmerman, has left Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty to join the New York City-based real estate brokerage that is also a real estate technology company.

“We are excited to be entering Fort Worth with a great partner like John Zimmerman. This is an important market in our growth story,” said Robert Reffkin, founder and CEO of Compass. “We are thrilled to enter the market with a talented and respected agent who is a leader in the community.”

Zimmerman, the proclaimed “$200 Million Dollar Man,” has been a top-producing agent in the Fort Worth and greater North Texas market for the past five years with Briggs Freeman.

We haven’t gone big at Fort Worth Friday for awhile and if you’re thinking of going big, Montserrat may be your ideal with lots as large as five acres and square footages that can top 20,000. It’s difficult to believe that the high-profile, gated community of Montserrat is 15 years old. Carved out of 143 acres of — you guessed it — ranch land owned by the Sirrat family, it still has the look of a newly minted luxury enclave. More time and mature trees will give it context. Though minutes from town, it can, still, at times, appear a bit lonely. However, there are many things to recommend Montserrat. In addition to the 24-hour security, there are 30 acres that have been set aside for park land and green space.

A 9,100-square-foot baronial, 2008 build at 4708 Santa Cova Court gives a representative vocabulary of luxuries that in many cases are neighborhood standards. Fireplaces? There are six. Baths? Six again with three half baths. Living areas? Three. I could go on, but, by now you get the point. (more…)
