As the population of Fort Worth continues to expand, buyers are constantly looking for areas of the city to embrace as “the next hot neighborhood” that will satisfy their budget, schooling needs and of course be in perfect proximity to all the fun restaurants, parks, museums and other areas of entertainment.  Currently that neighborhood is Westcliff.

Not Just College Kids Anymore

Located just south of the heavily valued TCU area, bordered by Bellaire Drive South, Granbury Road, Stadium/University, and Trail Lake/Alton, there was a time when Westcliff was mainly known as where the college students lived.

Walls have recently been removed to open the living to the kitchen and eating area — making home more inviting.

Today Westcliff is teaming with some student renters but more-and-more young families, empty nesters and everyone in between are now calling it “home.”

Westcliff is a Hot Neighborhood

Because many areas of the neighborhood funnel into the Tanglewood Elementary schools (considered the premier elementary school in Cowtown by some), the heavily treed streets of Westcliff are often filled with youngsters on bikes or walking with family.

Homes in Westcliff currently range from the mid-$200s to the millions.  With so few homes in all of Fort Worth in that “sweet spot” of $250,000 to $450,000, Westcliff financially meets the needs of so many buyers looking today.

The open kitchen at 4208 Selkirk Drive West is a focal feature of the home for sure.

And then there are the homes.  Built in the 1950s and ’60, homes are mainly single story, situated on homesites with bountiful trees, and easily to update.

The value of the Westcliff neighborhood continues to climb which makes it a perfect location for buyers who are willing to take an older home, put in the time and money to fix it up, and still have equity in the property.

Updated kitchen features a HUGE congregating island, stainless appliances and lots of natural light

The home at 4208 Selkirk Drive West is such a property.  Built in 1956, there was a time when the 2,545-square-foot home featured smaller rooms and a choppy floor plan.
