Open house: Sunday, Oct. 1, 2-4 p.m.

You wouldn’t expect to find a Craftsman in the Casa Linda Estates areas, but our lead open house this week is a new-build of exactly that style and it’s lovely. Located at 1508 Bella Vista Dr., this home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, three living areas, and 4,231 square feet on two stories, built in 2008 and sitting on 0.8 acres. There is also a guest house with 1,200 square feet and its own kitchen and full bath.

Builders have done a great job of creating an authentic feel with expected Craftsman elements: rich hardwoods, custom cabinetry and millwork, mullioned windows, and seed-glass and Rookwood-styled fireplace. Living spaces are oversized and a splendid kitchen offers a marble-topped island, farm sink, built-in, miles of cabinets, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas cooktop. There’s seating not only at the island, but also in a built-in banquette. The home has a formal dining area with handsome built-ins and a buffet space. Love the sunroom on the lower level with a wall of windows, as well as the luxe master suite on the first floor, with a great bathroom. The back features a patio and large swimming pool and spa.

This Casa Linda Estates Craftsman was listed Sept. 6 by Vicki Foster with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty for $1.249 million, reduced to $1.199 million.

Open house: Sunday, Oct. 1, 2-4 p.m.

Getting a home in Highland Park ISD is a goal for many buyers and the home at 7439 Colgate Ave. offers a lower price point than many in the district, with a Dallas address in Caruth Hills neat West Northwest Highway and the Dallas North Tollway. This home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, and 1,664 square feet on one story, built in 1952.

This beautiful cottage offers refinished hardwood floors, a detached two-car garage in a gated and fenced backyard, a fresh and soothing palette with fresh paint, and thoughtful spaces. The updated kitchen has Carrera Marble countertops, a subway tile backsplash, porcelain tile floors, white cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. Hardwoods extend into the bedrooms.

This home was listed May 18 by Carolina Garzon with Allie Beth Allman & Assoc. for $898K, reduced to $875,000.

Open house: Sunday, Oct. 1, 3-5 p.m.

If low maintenance and a Far North Dallas location are on your wish list, check out the zero lot line house at 18931 Misthaven Pl. Located near the President George Bush Turnpike and the Dallas North Tollway, this home has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, and 1,692 square feet on, built in 1985.

With soaring ceilings, ceramic tile floors that look like hardwoods, and a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace, there is so much to recommend this property. The kitchen is updated with granite counters, split-faced stone backsplash, stainless steel appliances, a huge island, and refurbished cabinets. The remodeled master bath delights with a hydro tub, large frameless shower, and lots of built-ins. The second bath also has granite counters and a sleek European shower door on the tub. Some other updates include plantation shutters and new carpet in bedrooms.

This home was listed Sept. 20 Florence Kelt with Ebby Halliday Realtors for $319,000.
