A Change.org petiton has been posted online to improve security at Dallas’ NorthPark Center.

The petition, filed on change.org, is addressed to NorthPark Center General Manager Billy Hines. Started by Heather LeClair, it asks to “confirm all Northpark Center security cameras are operational & increase security escorts.” I’d like to add “install gates in the parking garages.” As of this posting, there are 258 signatures. Click on the link if you’d like to sign the petition. I think the commentary is telling.

The call for action comes after at least 3 documented crimes against shoppers at the high end shopping center located at US-75, Park lane, and Northwest Highway.

Last Wednesday, a woman was attacked in the NorthPark parking garage just east of Macy’s while putting her toddler’s stroller in the trunk of her car. Fortunately, the woman was not seriously injured as her husband was nearby, but she was sprayed with pepper mace in the eyes. This is the third documented incident of violent crime at NorthPark Center since December 16, and one involved a gun.
