I’m locked, loaded and ready with my Partner’s Card, are you? Starting Friday, October 25, seasoned Dallas shoppers will hit the stores and rev up their credit cards for the best shopping ever. Partners Card bestows on its owners a 20 percent discount on purchases made at participating stores. And it seems like everyone participates. This is your best chance ever to spruce up the home for the holidays and nab some early holiday gifts. In fact, since I am not fond of crowds, this is usually when I do all my holiday shopping and then I’m done. 100 percent of the card’s $70 cost benefits the Family Place, a charitable organization dedicated to eliminating family violence.

These are items that seldom go on sale — or items for the home because let’s face it, October is the month when you start thinking about having everything perfect for the holidays especially if family or friends are coming. Retailers confirm shoppers often take advantage of Partner’s Card discount week to purchase accessories for fall and winter entertaining such as accessories for the table, dinnerware sets, new linens, placemats, and stemware.

One of the most brilliant charitable concepts in town, I predict it won’t be long before real estate is included. Cars are included this year for the first time. Buy a 2013 Partners Card, and Goodson Acura of Dallas will offer 10% off MSRP towards the purchase of all remaining 2013 TSX models. Goodson Acura of Dallas and Audi of Dallas will also offer a 20% discount on service and parts. Get in and go for money: an Audi Dallas Ride & Drive event and Goodson Acura Ride & Drive event will be held to benefit Partners Cards on Saturday, October 26, 10 to 5 p.m. at NorthPark Center for Audi, The Shops at Legacy from 12 to 5 p.m for Acura. For every ride, Goodson Acura of Dallas and Audi Dallas will give $10 back to the Family Place!

Partners Card 2013 Co-chairs are Annika Cail, Katy Duvall and Sara Friedman. Honorary Co-chairs are Beth Rafferty and her daughter Shay Geyer of IBB Design Fine Furnishings. IBB is an award- winning, all-inclusive design firm and home furnishings store that is always in high demand. Beth, a well-known interior designer and founder of IBB, along with her daughter Shay, a professional interior designer since 2001, are very adamant about giving back to the community. In their store, patrons are free to shop a showroom floor that features a wide range of styles – everything from classic traditional to more traditional/contemporary looks.

Over the past 20 years, Partners Card has become the largest fundraiser for The Family Place and is one of the most popular shopping events in the Dallas Metroplex. In 2012, Partners Card celebrated its 20th anniversary with more than 750 participating retailers and restaurants selling 14,600 cards and raising $1,115,854 for The Family Place. In its history, the community helped raise more than $13 million through the Partners Card program.
