Thursday Three Hundred Two-fer: Keep Your Family Close With These Stevens Park Estates Homes

Jenni Stolarski and Rob Puckett of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s are marketing two Stevens Park Estates homes that back up to one another and sit next to the fifth green of Stevens Park Golf Course —2036 Old Orchard and 2041 Mayflower — as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a family to be really close without moving in with each other.

Think of it like that final scene in My Big Fat Greek Wedding where the newlyweds move in next to the Parthenon-like home of the Portokaloses — you can have your mother and father (or in-laws!) right next door to hang out with the kids, but they’re not hanging around in their underwear, griping about the plumbing in the mother-in-law suite of your very own abode.

Here’s what you do: Set the family up in the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home on Old Orchard and have the grandparents in the two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath bungalow on Mayflower. Both homes are in tip-top shape, with the Old Orchard house marketed for $335,000 and the Mayflower home (goes on MLS Friday) in the neighborhood of $339,000. Those are amazing prices for corner lots in a very popular area!

There’s no alley to separate the two homes, which together, Stolarski says, sit on around 3/4 of an acre. That’s plenty of room for everyone to run around.

Now, the Mayflower home is gorgeous and updated, with tons of great finishes. Every room is lovely, and it’s just asking for someone with a whole lifetime’s worth of beautiful objects to fill its shelves and nooks.

The Old Orchard home screams “family,” with the brick floors, eat-in kitchen, and vegetable garden. There’s tons of character, too!

And the location is amazing. North Oak Cliff is booming, and it really doesn’t get much better than living next to Stevens Park Golf Course, which was recently redesigned and is such a gem.

Personally, I think it’s a great idea for the family who wants to stay super close. However, I prefer my in-laws in Forney. IJS.

And I was in Oak Cliff Tuesday with Bob Stimson, President of the Oak Cliff Chamber, who tells me Stevens Park is going to be named the top MUNICIPLE golf course in Texas! There are FOUR golf courses in Oak Cliff. Also the size of Oak Cliff is three times the size of the city of Seattle. Very bullish on this part on Dallas, stay tuned for the whole report!
