The winner gets a ticket to next Wednesday’s Inman Agent reBoot… 6 hours of learning fun and of course, gossip!
Hint: Joan Eleazer with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s was first and, quite possibly, the last agent. Hey, be happy I didn’t ask for how much all these agents spent in marketing…
Joan Eleazer with Briggs Freeman Sotherbys , Elaine Whitfield with Dave Perry-Miller and associates, Cindy Frey with Coldwell Banker residential
Joan has listed it twice. When Elaine listed it, it was co-listed by Matthew Edwards.

Across the street, the Goldfields had homes & land also listed with Joan Eleazer & the co-lister or second agent on that one was Jeffrey Eleazer.

When Cindy Frey had the mansion listed, showings were arranged by both her & Greg Cagle.

Okay….I am beddy by bound! If I am missing any now, let me know & break my heart. I really wanted to go (on your dime of course)! But, seriously, I have heard great things about this event.

Elaine Whitfield with DPM in 2008-2009 for $65,500,000
Joan Eleazer with Briggs 2009-2010 for $27,500,000 (without all the acreage)
Cindy Frey with CB 2010-2011 for $69,900,000 ( acreage thrown back in)
brief gap in 2010 but back on the market at the same price with Cindy at the same price,
Joan Eleazer with Briggs 2011 til today for $35,000,000 ( with 38 acres but not the big acreage)
My favorite parts of this palace are the lady's master bath/closet and the back veranda.
To summarize, so far I have noted the following listing agents: Joan Eleazer with Briggs Freeman Sotherbys, who listed it twice. On one of Joan's listings, part of Goldfield place was co-listed or had a second agent on the listing who was Jeffrey Eleazer. Elaine Whitfield with Dave Perry-Miller and Associates & it was co-listed by Matthew Edwards. Cindy Frey with Coldwell Banker Residential (during her listing period, showings were arranged by both her & Greg Cagle). And, back in news history, Doris Jacobs with Allie Beth Allman & Associates.

Unfortunately, the original price tag of $65.5MM should have never happened. It was never worth that much, and the agent actually did the clients a disservice by planting an image of sugarplum fairies dancing in their heads.

Good, no, great point! Agents should not plant sugarplum fairy-tale pricing notions in clients heads. That's why it took ten years to sell…

What’s the dirt?
The dirt's not worth very much. I can tell you that! Perhaps $2MM for 38 acres?? I think they'll be lucky to get $7MM for the entire estate at auction—could be more, could be less. Depends how badly someone wants it. I'm not sure how badly anyone wants that tax bill and upkeep cost though!
By the way, regarding the auction company here's an interesting tidbit….. http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20100419/COLUMNIST/4191060

So is Bonnie our big winner?
So is Bonnie our big winner?
Bonnie is 95% there. Lydia, do you want to play?
Candy, maybe you should consider a contest for those guessing closest to the exact amount the Goldfield's mansion goes for at the upcoming auction? If, of course, the price gets above the minimum bid, whatever amount that is.
