A Second Home Story With a Very Happy Ending

Pretend this is still Valentines Day, k?

Do you recall the story of 4850 Preston Road? Beautiful home in the PRIMO primo heart of Dallas over there snuggled next to the Muses and Crows, built by Mickey Munir and snapped up first time by James Beckett III. He bought her the house in 2008 for about $10 million sight unseen as a wedding surprise, which is I think about the most romantically wonderful thing a man can do. His bride is Diane Burgdorf, formerly married to Mark Thatcher. The home is ginormous, and Diane thought it was just too big (but she totally appreciated his sweet offer!) I mean, it is 13,000 plus square feet and has all those bedrooms, six or more. So it went on the market where it sat just because, that’s what big houses do in markets like the current one.

Did.

Well guess what. In came Jimmy and Carl H. Westcott right before Christmas and swooped that house up on 12/21.10. Perfect house for them, yard not too huge, and they have multiple homes. The lovely Linda McMahon of Briggs Freeman/Sothby’s handled the transaction. Sold for in the neighborhood of $8.8.

So glad 4850 Preston is starting 2011 with a happy beginning!
