Sometimes, the best-laid plans come together just as you visualized. That’s the case with Junior Desinor’s beautiful Preston Hollow Georgian Colonial dream home. He tapped the incredibly talented David Stocker of SHM Architects for the design and his friend Scott Powell at New Leaf Custom Homes to bring his vision to life.

Desinor, many of you know, is quite the Renaissance man. The real estate developer started flipping houses in college, acquiring his real estate license at 21, and then opened his company, Level Properties, at 25. He appeared on Shark Tank, where he created the first smart lock box, then licensed and sold that technology, racking up three patents in the process. Most recently, the real estate developer has entered the building world with his newest company, Desinor Custom Homes.

When Desinor spotted this property, it belonged to the wife of one of the sons of Mrs. Baird’s Bakery.

“She sold us the house because we promised to keep her original home on the property and not tear it down,” Desinor said.

True to his word, Desinor built his Preston Hollow Georgian Colonial in front of the original house. With almost an acre, there was no space issue.

“Symmetry is important to me, so when we were designing the house, the main thing I wanted was for the front door to line up with the guest house front door,” Desinor said. He wanted a timeless, classic Georgian Colonial style, and because it was meant to be a forever home, it has everything you can imagine.

With 11,000 square feet, the main house features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, a powder bath, a private gym, and a rare, climate-controlled, fully plumbed 9-car garage, so beautiful that you could entertain in it.

The principal suite has a lovely sitting room with a fireplace.

Having a 3,100-square-foot guest house is unheard of, but remember, it was the original house. This is a great lesson in historic preservation, and another testament to Desinor’s creativity.  If you have the space, consider retaining the original and converting it into a guest house.

The guest house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so if you are keeping up, the entire property has nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms. This is perfectly suited for multi-generational living, extended guests, or private staff quarters. With symmetry playing a lead in the design, the guest house echoes the main home with amazing architectural cohesion.

Desinor has meticulously crafted a timeless home with perfect proportion and scale. You might be wondering why he’s selling his dream home. Like many of us, the decision to move is often driven by practical reasons. In this case, Desinor has just broken ground on a large luxury equestrian development in Lucas. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before, and he wants to be boots on the ground to oversee it. (You can bet the moment the first home is completed, we will let you know all about it!)

Meanwhile, he’s busy creating his new home. “I’m building the same house because I love it so much,” he said. We are doing a few tweaks, but it’s the same house!”

Y’all know my mantra by now. When you can buy a home that has this kind of architect/builder pedigree and is a real estate developer’s dream home, in the most coveted neighborhood in Dallas, you simply cannot go wrong. I’d leap on this opportunity if I were you.

Desinor has his Preston Hollow Georgian Colonial at 5947 Lupton Dr. available for $8.999 million.
