Thoughtful MCM in Dallas’ Private School Corridor Lets Natural Light Lead

In a North Dallas neighborhood where mature trees and established architecture set the tone, 10757 St. Lazare Dr. manages to feel both rooted and entirely new. Located in the heart of the city’s highly sought-after Private School Corridor, this Midcentury Modern has been taken down to the studs, expanded, and reimagined for 2026 living in collaboration with F+E Design Architects and Camara Homes.
From the moment you walk in, there’s an immediate sense that the home was designed with intention. The original brick carries straight through the entry, subtly pulling the outdoors in and cuing up one of the home’s defining themes: a constant connection to nature. The gorgeous olive tree at the entrance sets the stage from the first step.

Here, the light leads. It’s warm, layered, and calming. Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, wide-plank hardwood, and walls of glass create an open, breathable floor plan. Every room connects visually to the yard, which anchors the home. The transitions from space to space are seamless.
The kitchen might be the most compelling space in the house. Oversized windows flood it with natural light, making it feel less like a workspace and more like a gathering place. Custom cabinetry flush with storage, sleek stone surfaces, and a waterfall island deliver the function, but it’s the energy of the space that stands out. The result is a kitchen that feels more connected to the outdoors than isolated from it.

That sense of intention carries throughout. Remember the olive tree? Brought in as a living design element, it’s not just a decoration. It’s symbolic, representing peace and grounding, and it reinforces the home’s organic, nature-driven approach.
The primary suite leans fully into that motif. With vaulted ceilings and walls of glass to let in that natural light, it feels more like a retreat than a bedroom. The real standout is the connection to the outdoors, including a Zen-inspired outdoor shower that transports you far outside the hustle and bustle of Dallas city life. A garden space also adds an unexpected layer of serenity. The bathroom continues the story with natural materials, soft tones, and a soaking tub that feels pulled from a boutique resort.

Out back, the covered patio — complete with a fire feature — extends the living space year-round, making it just as functional for entertaining as it is for a quiet evening at home.
It’s rare to find a Midcentury Modern that feels this cohesive. If you want to take a tour and see for yourself, contact Susie Thompson at 214-354-8866.
