Check Out Post Malone’s Rockin’ Childhood Home in Grapevine

Before he was a Grammy-nominated, chart-topping musician, Post Malone grew up in Grapevine. It’s proof that a once-quiet suburb can transform a music-loving kid into a global superstar.
The artist formerly known as Austin Richard Post was 9 years old when he moved to Texas. His dad had taken a job running concessions for the Dallas Cowboys and brought his family to North Texas. Now the house where the musical superstar once practiced is on the market.
1226 Eaton Ln. in Grapevine will be available for public inspection at an open house on Saturday, February 7, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. It’s not located in Grapevine’s historic areas, but it is a home with a little history behind it.

Rock Star Curb Appeal
Built in 1987, this 1,685‑square‑foot one-story home starts with the curb appeal of a rock star. A red front door pops on the white house with black trim.
Behind that red front door lies an open-concept layout with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upgrades since Post Malone lived there include a renovated primary bathroom, triple‑pane windows, a new air conditioning unit, and a new water heater.
Maybe there’s magic in the foundation of the house where Malone grew up that led him to a musical career. Although he was born on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York, he is claimed by Grapevine and Grapevine High School. After he was voted “Most Likely to Become Famous,” he enrolled for a while at Tarrant County College.

Musician on the Move
He ended up moving to California, and by 2015, he had a recording contract with Republic Records. His music, which ranges from rap to country to rock, along with his numerous tattoos, earned him attention. His Grammy nominations are in the double digits, and he has won five American Music Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards, and seven iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Even with that kind of success, he has not forgotten Grapevine. In May 2020, the music star remembered his hometown and his high school alma mater with a generous gesture. Each Grapevine High School student, teacher, and faculty member received a pair of his signature Post Malone Crocs Duet Max II Clogs.
While he remembers where he came from, Post Malone’s still living his best life outside of Grapevine. Besides recently performing a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the Grammys, he’s been kicking back in Utah in slightly larger style.

The open house is scheduled for 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7.
