Next Phase of The Bridges at Preston Crossings Builds on Gunter Growth

Once home to horses and charity galas, the land that now makes up The Bridges at Preston Crossings is entering a new chapter. Centurion American Development Group has announced the next phase of the Gunter community, continuing a decade-long expansion that began when the developer acquired the former equestrian ranch in 2012.

The Bridges at Preston Crossings is a 200-acre golf course community located east of Preston Road at Main Street in Gunter, just north of Celina. Located on a former private equestrian ranch that twice hosted the Cattle Barons Ball, Candy Evans actually trotted the land that would become Bridges at Preston Crossings on horseback in 2010.
Farmers Branch–based Centurion American, led by president and CEO Mehrdad Moayedi, has steadily expanded The Bridges over the past decade. The neighborhood — complete with a private pool, community playground, and ample green space — is centered on an 18-hole championship golf course and offers membership opportunities at The Bridges Golf Club, which includes a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse with a bar and grill and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
“The Bridges at Preston Crossings is a community that reflects our vision for creating places where families can thrive,” Moayedi said in a statement. “With the launch of this next phase, we’re proud to continue delivering high-quality living environments that combine lifestyle, value, and long-term growth for the cities we serve.”

Mattamy Homes will build in this new phase. The Canada-based company — recognized as the largest privately owned homebuilder in North America — has worked in The Bridges before and is returning with a new product.
“We are excited to be returning to the Bridges community with new, more affordable options for our customers and a continued commitment to the customer experience,” said John Kuntz, Dallas division president at Mattamy Homes.
Building Momentum in the ‘Golden Corridor’
The Bridges is one of several Centurion American projects in Grayson County, an area increasingly in developers’ crosshairs as growth pushes north of Collin County. In June, Moayedi’s firm announced Platinum Ranch, a nearly 2,000-acre master-planned community in Gunter that will eventually include more than 4,200 homes, on-site Gunter ISD schools, and significant mixed-use development.
Rex Glendenning of Rex Real Estate, who brokered the Platinum Ranch deal and has been central to assembling large tracts in the area, has called Gunter the next chapter of the region’s “Golden Corridor.”
“Gunter is next in line for major developments along the Golden Corridor following both Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway,” Glendenning said in June.
Gunter, which sits north of Celina and Prosper along Preston Road, has long been considered the next frontier for large-scale residential growth. The planned expansion of the Dallas North Tollway toward Grayson County and the proximity to Sherman’s epicenter of semiconductor chip plants have only heightened developer interest, who are banking on the combination of available land, proximity to employment centers in nearby counties, and a demand for more affordable new homes than what buyers might find farther south.
