They Didn’t Just Live Here — They Built Their D.C. Townhome in Lego Form Too

Sonnets have been written about love. Poems have been written about love. The movie Love Story taught us that love means never having to say you’re sorry. Wesley expressed his deep, deep love for Buttercup with three little words, “As you wish.” When they finally kissed it was the most passionate, most romantic kiss ever known to man because they were so in love. I’m here to tell you that all of that is absolute drivel.

Twue rrove… oops sorry. I got carried away there. True love is Legos. Yeah I said Legos. Allow me to explain. The house featured in this week’s column is loved. I mean it is loved a whole lot. The owners made Lego replicas of every room of the house.

What? You thought I was joking. They even got the leaves on the tree, the flowers along the wall, and the ferns in front of the windows. I have just two words for you: Holy crap!!!

When we put our homes on the market, we hope that the people who buy it love it as much as we do. I do not think that is possible with this house.

The only difference between these two photos is the little computer in the Lego model.

I’ll give it to the Lego people, they keep a neater kitchen counter than the humans.

Fair is fair. That Lego rug looks like it would be super painful to step on as you’re getting out of bed.

Okay, neither photo is realistic because neither treadmill is covered in clothes.

Between you, me, and the lighthouse, to make a Lego model out of the schematic seems to be over the top. It’s like cray, cray came knocking, and not only did they open the door, but they invited it in and had a cocktail or two.

Even the patio was replicated. When I was a kid I enjoyed playing with Legos. I never really cared for the sets because what kid wanted to sit down and read the directions of what piece goes where? The attention to detail here is slightly unnerving.
But, what is also slightly amusing is that the listing does not say that the Lego models will convey so one can only imagine that the current owner will keep them. If that’s not love then I do not know what is.

Indeed Wesley. Indeed.
