Fort Worth Curzon Avenue Villa is Back, More Beautiful Than Ever

I did a double take when I espied this gorgeous Curzon Avenue villa, arguably the most beautiful listing to hit the market, dropping today and already getting hundreds of hits on the real estate sites. It looked so familiar that I checked our archives three times before finally turning up my own post written almost exactly eight years ago. Still, it’s reappearance on the Fort Worth real estate market is newsworthy and I hope you will agree is worthy of coverage. I made it a point to not read my 2017 post too carefully to at least attempt to bring a fresh perspective to the story.

Built in 1929, for the Fort Worth pioneer Sorelle family, 6200 Curzon Ave. has stood as an iconic dwelling which anchored Ridglea North before it was even incorporated into Fort Worth proper. The ingenious façade joins two wings at 45º angles to the welcoming entrance bay at center. The house is an exquisite example of the Spanish Colonial idiom that recalls the glory days of old Hollywood. The unique disposition of the façade creates interior space for one of the loveliest staircases in Fort Worth, with dual flights which converge at the landing. The original Saltillo floors, of complex design, have, after 96 years acquired the patina of rich tanned leather.

The nearly 6,200 square foot four bedroom, three-and-one-half bath estate retains all of its original period details including vintage oak floors, beams, plaster arches and stained glass windows. The living room has nearly 300 square feet of space and one of the residence’s three fireplaces. Pocket doors on the ground floor create a sense of openness and graceful circulation.

The dining room is off the foyer with a second informal living area beyond.
The kitchen is state of the art with 60″ Wolf range, Sub-Zero refrigerator and twin dish washers. The basement contains a 1,000-bottle wine cellar.

All four bedrooms are on the second floor. All baths have undergone recent renovations.

The property sits on nearly one acre and includes a stunning refurbished pool overlooked by an elegant cabaña. In addition, there is a 670 square foot guest house. The garage has three parking spaces.
Chris Miller of Williams Trew Real Estate has listed 6200 Curzon Ave. for $2.385 million.
