Happy New Year! Have you made your resolutions? Whether it’s living a healthier lifestyle or welcoming a new romance, we’ve rounded up four of last year’s columns that just may help turn this year’s resolutions into realities.

Lima-Stanley Design

Just before Earth Day, we spoke to the design duo at Lima-Stanley about their year-round commitment to sustainability. The Dallas-based interior and landscape design firm is dedicated to creating spaces that support a healthy, harmonious lifestyle.

“Our approach focuses on total well-being,” said Daniel Stanley, co-founder and landscape creative director. “Your home should be a sanctuary — indoors and out.”

The firm specializes in providing homeowners with earth-friendly alternatives. “Our why, our message, our reason for doing this is to protect the planet.”

Jenn Thatcher

When all three of Jenn’s children were diagnosed with non-genetic illnesses, this visionary mom took matters into her own hands. “I wanted to create a brand that was free from the harmful chemicals that come at us from every direction.”

Her solution was creating a line of clean-living essentials appropriately names ZEBRA – black and white ingredients that are safe and effective. Jenn’s first two products to hit the market, toothpaste and deodorant, went through 200 and 350 rounds of testing respectively.

“We’re all about transparency. There’s nothing out there like us. Just like the zebra, we want to be known as a different animal.”

Learn why Jenn says providing an alternative to mainstream products was not just a mission, but a calling.

Lauren Gillian

Even small dietary changes can impact both health and stamina, according to Lauren, a registered holistic nutritionist. “What I do for my patients is customize a meal plan; something that works with their lifestyle, and is easy to sustain.”

She also does pantry makeovers with healthy alternatives to favorite foods. “The goal isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making better choices.”

Jane Gordon

What’s the connection between romance and real estate? Just ask veteran Realtor Jane Gordon, a multi-million-dollar producer with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. “A house in a great neighborhood is always going to appreciate faster. There’s no question: location drives property value.”

She also revealed some red flags, from guys who live in back houses to good linens. “The idea is for your bed at home to feel as luxurious as one in a five-star hotel.”
