Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty has attracted another top industry pro to its tight-knit team of managers, directors, and leaders — this time in the increasingly important realm of relocations and referrals.

Janna Edgar, CRP, has joined as the brokerage’s Director of Global Relocation and Referral Services. She packs a very impressive resume. With more than 20 years of extensive experience and success in relocation and real estate, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the vital role. Edgar is a recognized industry leader and is already known and respected within the relocation network of Sotheby’s International Realty. She has served as an advisory board member of the Relocation Directors Council and holds the esteemed Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation from the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council, of which she is also a member.

At Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, Edgar is invigorating and leading the brokerage’s relocation, referral, and lead-management initiatives — a strategic plan aligned with its enviable location in the largest-growing metropolitan area in the United States. For its corporate clients, she is providing innumerable layers of support as they navigate the unique adventure of moving to a new area — be it a new market within North Texas or a new city across the globe. For its real estate advisors, Edgar is fostering connections with other Sotheby’s International Realty advisors around the world, overseeing tracking for referral transactions, and relaunching the brokerage’s advisor training program for CRP certification. In the realm of lead generation, she is overseeing the capturing and qualifying of current leads, further developing the brokerage’s new AI-powered chatbot, and developing new strategies for future leads.

Edgar reports to the brokerage’s EVP of marketing, Maria Cintron, as part of Cintron’s recently expanded role leading marketing, relocations, referrals, and the rapidly evolving convergence of marketing and technology known as MarTech.

Prior to Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, Edgar demonstrated her exceptional leadership and strong commitment to client satisfaction as the senior manager of real estate at Odyssey Relocation Management in California. Her responsibilities included overseeing all real estate programs for Odyssey’s clients, with a keen focus on risk mitigation and program compliance. She was also entrusted with managing Odyssey’s global broker network, ensuring optimal performance and service delivery. Edgar’s dedication to excellence extended to her oversight of the daily activities of Odyssey’s relocation consultants, where she encouraged a culture of professionalism and service excellence.

Before her relocation career, Edgar excelled as a full-time agent, which provided her with unique and invaluable insights into the needs of relocating employees. She impressively maintains her coursework for her real estate license — which is a family affair.

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Edgar reports that her mother and sister were agents. “I grew up on roller skates,” she says, “handing out my mom’s marketing materials.” Today, she is the proud mom to two grown sons and the self-described “dog mom” to a beloved Havanese. She is also passionate about museums, libraries, and international travel — Italy is her favorite — and she is an enthusiastic chef who loves health-conscious cooking, walking, and Pilates.

Edgar’s new role at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty is a game-changer in the world of relocation. Her dedication, expertise, and passion for service will allow the brokerage to exponentially grow its relocation, referral, and lead-generation facets, to the benefit of its clients and advisors. Its Relocation Services page outlines a lot of it, at briggsfreeman.com/relocation, and there is more to come. We’ve gotten quite used to that when it comes to Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.
