You Can Definitely Have a Coke, But no Smile in This Florida Home

Coke, Florida, obsession

“Hi, I’m Mimi and I am addicted to Coca-Cola. It’s been two hours since my last Coke Zero.” Wow, I feel so much better. There should be no secrets between friends and I just wanted to come clean with you fine people.

The accuracy is uncanny.

Now being from the South, I need to make something perfectly clear. The correct pronunciation for Coca-Cola is Cocola as in “Hey, Stella Gray, you want an ice cold Cocola?” The appropriate response would be, “Why sure, Buelah Mae, I’d love a Cocola. I’ll bring some Krispy Kremes. They go great with Cocola.”

Hand to God, I knew a Stella Gray and a Beulah Mae, and boy howdy did they love their Coke and Krispy Kremes. I digress.

I only mention my love of the best soda ever made because I do believe I have found someone who loves this specific carbonated sugar water more than I do. That would be the owner of the house featured in this week’s column.

Look at that wrap-around porch. It would be the perfect place to pop the top off a bottle of Coke and enjoy the fizzy mist you get with your first sip. This lovely home is located at 9524 Bone Bluff Drive, Navarre, Florida. It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and is more than 3,000 square feet. Sitting on more than an acre, the owners are asking $700,000. Let us go inside.

Uh-oh.

Coke, Florida, obsession

Tip of the hat to these folks. They must really, really, like Cocola. The only Coke decor I have in my house is the empty can that I forget to put in the recycle bin after lunch. When I see it later on, I put it in the recycle bin instead of on a shelf. These folks are in it to win it.

I did not realize this was a bedroom at first until I saw the other photos and realized that it was a bed in the corner.

Maybe they bought, let us say, a Coca-Cola wall clock and then it all quickly spiraled out of control. Did you notice the Krispy Kreme sign mixed in there? Do I know Southerners, or what?

Not even the foyer and bathroom could escape the Cocola obsession. What is incredibly funny though is the statue of the dude in the top hat in the bathroom. Bro is holding his nose. That adds new meaning to the famous ad campaign “Have a Coke and a Smile” because I absolutely busted up.

So there you go my peoples. Writing this column has made me quite thirsty so I think I will go have a tasty beverage.

My brother is a big collector of vintage Coca-Cola items… his home, if he ever listed it, would give this one a run for its money!
