While Collin Creek opened as a mall in 1981, public-private partnerships have helped redevelopment plans from Centurion American. Centurion, in partnership with the City of Plano, has completed the infrastructure necessary so that lots can be turned over to builders. The first single-family homes should be on the market in 2024.

The builders, which will have plans available for townhomes starting in the upper $480,000s, include Ashton Woods, Brightland Homes, and Mattamy Homes. Centurion has 500 single-family homes planned for the 100-acre property, as well as 2,300 multifamily units and 300 first-class independent living residences.

“Since this project began in 2019, the City of Plano has been a model partner in creating the vision for Collin Creek,” said Centurion American Vice President Rob Romo. “Our ongoing collaboration with the city will help Collin Creek become the focal point of the downtown Plano region.”

Collin Creek: a Pedestrian-Friendly, Mixed-Use Project

Envisioned as a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use project, Collin Creek is poised for growth in 2024 thanks to milestones reached by Centurion’s development team. One big project that has made strides is the completely underground parking garage, for which all concrete has been poured. This massive undertaking was designed to ensure adequate parking for residents and their guests as well as for shoppers and diners at the 340,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, while ensuring a more attractive community with landscaped parks more visible than parking.

The City of Plano, working alongside the Centurion American team, has engaged the Plano residents for their input on two signature parks that comprise the bulk of the eight acres of park space within the Collin Creek community.

Starlight Park along the west side of the development and Sunrise Park along the east will provide beautiful green gathering spaces and 1.6 miles of walking trails. The City of Plano has also recently completed the installation of a 42-inch sanitary sewer along the project’s east side, while also continuing the work to reinforce the three underground culverts.

Centurion American has also completed the site preparation to accommodate the two multifamily structures slated for construction over the garage. The groundwork sets the stage for forthcoming podium structures, a crucial component for the project.

Centurion American is poised to commence construction early in 2024.
