If we tried to personify this 1940 Oakhurst bungalow in Fort Worth, she’d be like that cool, boho gal who makes every get-together more fun. With her great sense of humor and an even greater sense of style (oh, the hats!), she has an effortless ability to bring people, places, and things together so beautifully that around her, no one’s a stranger. Style maven Brittany Cobb is that gal and this is that house.

If you’re a fan of Flea Style, Heirloom Haul, and Wide Brim, then you’re already feeling the fabulous California bohemian vibes evident inside this home. Cobb’s recognizable “Flea Style Bungalow” (It’s got its own Instagram) is listed for sale by Joseph Berkes with Williams Trew Real Estate.

Berkes is a big fan of Cobb’s, and an even bigger fan of her efforts to keep original features intact.

“Each room,” he says, “is a testament to the meticulous attention she paid to preserving the home’s historical character while incorporating her signature shabby chic style.”

The SoCal native bought Bluebonnet in 2021 and set right to work playing to its strengths.

“I wanted a place that had a great flow and layout as well as pretty views from every window,” Cobb says. “The house is a natural beauty. I just highlighted its amazing features. I refinished the original hardwood floors to lighten up the space and make it a bit more contemporary. I painted every surface, so it felt fresh and airy. I love that the historic details are charming, but also still modern and timeless.”

With four bedrooms and two baths in 1,867 square feet, there is ample space inside and out for comfortable living, entertaining, and hosting guests. The kitchen and both baths are completely updated.

There’s a large living area, a sizable flex space (currently a breakfast/sunroom with a daybed), and one of the four bedrooms could be converted, whatever the buyer needs.

The biggest improvement, according to Cobb, was fully landscaping the grounds and creating a graveled fire pit area sandwiched between two live oaks, complete with café string lights for dreamy evenings under the stars. The charming and historic 1940 Craftsman bungalow is set on a shady .20-acre lot in the heart of the coveted Oakhurst addition.

The location is so close to everything and just a stone’s throw from the Stockyards, I-35, and downtown. You can truly be anywhere in central Fort Worth in 10 minutes or less.

Cobb and her family are on to even bigger night skies, having just renovated a ranch in East Texas. (Yep, it’s got an Instagram, too: Limestone Hill Ranch.)

About a future owner, Cobb says, “I truly can see anybody in this home. It’s so functional, in a great location, and designed with elements that can work with any décor style, not just mine. I know there will be many happy memories for whoever lands here next.”

Joseph Berkes with Williams Trew has listed 1409 Bluebonnet Drive for $525,000. To tour this Cowtown cutie, contact Berkes at 817.266.1355 | [email protected].
